Nadal w/ Righty Overgrip?

Was looking at the new Golf-smith tennis catalog with Nadal on the front cover, and I was startled to see that Nadal, who plays lefty, uses a RIGHTY overgrip!

Is there a reason as to why he plays like this? Is that, perhaps, the secret to his insane topspin? Sorry if this has already been caught.

Oh... And sorry if the picture quality is bad. x_x

well he is a righty. maybe he just wraps his grips right handed and it doesn't matter to him which way it goes.

Personally I can't remember which way I wrap mine... it doesn't bother me at all though.

...seems like it's clockwise at the moment...and I'm right-handed.

wrapping it the wrong way gave me blisters so since then i always do it the right way.

I think you are right. He is right handed so he wraps the grip like a right hander. Case closed!

bleah, i cant even tell the difference btween which way i wrap it, i just go the same way the original grip goes

there's a thread that was started yesterday I think. Its a video that nike made with Nadal and they were having him do things right handed and than left. He couldn't even write his name with his left hand. I'm sure its because hes right handed and doesn't do anything but play tennis lefty.

doesn't really matter how you wrap the grip... I know a couple of lefties who like their grips wrapped righty, and even more righties who like their grips wrapped lefty.
The most that wrapping your grip is going to do is create a sensation that you are getting a better grip, and maybe a little extra torque. Really though, its just a feel thing.

Come on you guys this is ridiculous. I am a lefty, I have always wrapped mine to go with the original grip, I never even knew that lefties were supposed to wrap it a different way. It is not a big deal, keep your panties un-bunched.

actually this is the reason he hits so much topspin

that is weird that he wraps it backwards. maybe he has always played with his grip like that and it would just change the feel of his racquet a micron that would mess up his game.

yea i looked at my grip pattern just now and the only reason why did it that way is because the grip starts that way when i bought them. the grip has a slant and that tells you how to start. i don't know how to say it. but imma try to grip a lefty the next time i get a new grip and see what difference it makes.
