I'm not sure I understand the concept behind these. The pressurized air is in the ball slowly leaking out. Putting the balls in this container and putting pressure around them trying to force air in, wouldn't this take just as long to get the air back in and if you did force it back in, wouldn't the rubber core be weakened from the forcing the air back in, making the air easier to leak out?
I think it's no so much about forcing the air back in (not very practical idea, although in theory, doable, see rebounces.com). It's about keeping the balls from going more flat sooner.
Let's say if you open up a new can of balls and only play with it for 1 session, but the felt is still good enough for use as practice balls, and you want to use it a few more times before going to the trash. Well, if you leave them out of the pressurized can, they will go flat after a few days. If you put them back into a pressurized container, they'll stay fresh a little longer.
I don't think the rubber core would be weakened from the air being forced back in. Balls are hit very hard and they hold up just fine. They're permeable and that's why air leaks out. So if air can leak out, air can be forced back in.
By the way, instead of trashing used balls, save them and send them to rebounces.com to help the environment. They recycle the used balls. They will send you a prepaid shipping label to send the balls to them.
