Last time I saw the racquet he had no stencil on it - has it changed, i.e. does he really have a racquet sponsorship for a change?

no wonder his forehand is all over the place, he's using a continental grip, even Edberg couldn't pull that one off.
I do like the leather grip though.
It's a Western grip. In the picture Ivo will hit the ball with the side faceing the photographer

Karlovic and a Aero Pro Drive :?
I think he wants to be a baseline player right now!

for karlovic its impossible to use a two handed backhand. look in the pic above at how his hand covers almost all of the handle .

I was at Bolletieris in december and Karlovic was there training using the Babolat. He was switching back and forth during his workouts between his Instinct and the Babolat, but primarily hitting alot of groundies and returns with the babolat.

Lol! My first thought was a full Western grip... but had to re-look at it after someone else mentioned continental.

This is probably better racket anyway. that instinct is very harsh on the arm..

Hey man, you're being sarcastic about that one, right? The Instinct is easily the softest frame I've ever played with. The Areo Pro Drive (Original) is probably the second harshest frame I've ever hit with, and I don't mind super-stiff frames, but there was a noticeable difference.

But maybe the frame will do him some good. Maybe a bit more pop on the serve, bit more pop off the ground, a bit more spin off the backhand, the usual. Who knows? But the difference comes in the form of higher or lower rankings, and we really haven't seen much of him lately, so let's give it some time before we crucify him and claim that he should switch!

I know for sure that he has changed the frame.
HE was pissed because head doesnt produce the FLEX INSTINCT anymore for nobody.not even karlo.or gasquet or LU..
Karlo went 2 babolat..the other two are playing something else..
but no FLEXinstincts in production anymore..

Gasquet uses the LM Instinct XL. Don't think he even used an FXP paint scheme on his frame.

old image. Notice the REAL cortex

Who would of thought that the two biggest servers in the history of tennis use a 100sq inch Babolat tennis racket.

had it in my hand yesterday... fpx insitinct blacked out with stripes...
The Babolat stencil should not be a problem here since Babolat does sponsor players for string and it could be deemed to stand for that. Dunlop did not have this option when they were ordered by the court to cease and desist having Safin stencil his blacked-out Head as a Dunlop.

If that were true I might agree (Western Grip) but I don't see how in hell he could -the ball is just about on him!

Everything about that picture looks to me like his stance/preparation are set to hit the ball with the side of the racquet facing the court, which would make it continental (or even rotated a bit toward a BH grip). Very strange.
