Yesterday Novak played the game of his life and came SO CLOSE

and today BEFORE Roger has stepped out on court- they are making excuses

Rafa has taken all of Djokovic's hard work and thrown it under the bus by saying he was injured in the match (and indirectly implying if he was fit Nole wouldn't have stood a chance)

the pathetic Nadal Camp PULLED THIS SAME STUNT in the AO

they claimed Nadal was dying before the match and it messed with Fed's PREPERATION

ROGER KNOWS THIS

you could tell by his interview yesterday, he has seen through the Nadal camp BS!

the Nadal fans are completeley gonna attack this thread

BUT

if Roger did this, you would be all over him like a rash- you are such hypocrites, and you completly have double standards for Rafa and the rest

As i've been known to say in the past.. Nadal hasn't lost a match in the last 3 years when he hasn't been "injured". Funny stuff.

Nadal and his camp have not said anything other than that they will try to recover him after a 4 hour match. The OP is pathetic and so is this thread.

The only funny thing here is you that you don't or can't read his interviews properly. I see Nadal haters are too desperate with the current Nadal domination.

C'mon fella, we've been through this all before. After matches Nadal loses, he comes out with an excuse.. it's a simple fact.

You're being paranoid and pathetic. If you followed the news from spanish media you'd know that the Nadal camp had said there's nothing wrong with his knee. But of course you don't care what they say. Bitc*ing and moaning is more appeal to you than getting your fact right.

Roger had only himself to blame at the AO. Nadal could have beaten him in straight if he hadn't been so tired. And please don't say my 'could have' doesn't count because you're the master of the 'could have beens'.

If this is so silly then why are nadal fans saying he is injured if he was injured he would not play and not take risking any chances before RG

Because he cares about his fans and he is playing in front of his home crowd. The fact that he is willing to go through the match is a miracle itself

Different people have different way of reacting to a Loss/Win and keeping things in perspective.

I am supporting no particular player on this topic. If you show up to play, i expect that player to fully accept consequences (win or lose). Excuses doesnt mean a crap to me (as if my opinion is really relevant or cared).

Nadal is not really making excuses to belittle opponents. It could be his way of rationalizing the result to himself. I dont see problem with his statements.

I believe they bring hate to Fed because you guys brang hate to Nadal. Honestly you guys were asking for it and you got what you deserved. Two wrongs usually don't make a right, in this case it does

And Fed doesn't?? Should I remind you that Fed said he went to MC to look at the surface and Rome was just a test tournament for him?

Not really, I think Nadal is a great person. He just has an injury excuse everytime he suffers a loss. I posted a list of all his losses once and he had an excuse for every single one, without fail.

Nadal doesn't make excuses. because we can see for a fact that its legitimate he will always give full credit, wish Fed did that more often ;)

Totally agree, that's what I think is happening also.

I do think it belittles his opponents though. Remember when Gonzalez destroyed him in Australia? That match is remembered as much for the quotes about him having a "pain in my famous ***, no?" as the stunning tennis Gonzalez played and that's not right.

Fed Fan boy?

Wrong.

He had a pain in his thight and I think we're entitled to say just that. Doesn't Fed have some sort of back problem now and then as well? Facts and excuses are two different things. Only haters use it against a player.

Yes nadal doesn't give excuses but his fans do and saying he's injured before he plays a match is non sense when nadal himself hasn't said anything about a injury

OMG, did Fed play a 4 hr match, Did Fed have to go through the tough clay courters. A BIG FAT NO!

Honestly sometimes i think Nadal is just too nice sometimes to try to please everyone. If you think hes 100% your just delusional as the rest of your tribe.

OMG did Nadal have to play a third round match? I don't think so. Who cares if he played a four hour match. And as far as him being 100%, I don't think at this point in the season anyone is 100%. If he is so hurt or in pain he should pull out and rest.

Any normal man would pull out but not Nadal, he is just so dedicated to this sport he would play any point as if hes life depended on it unlike Fed

I would beleive the OP except for the fact that the first thing I said after I turned the Nadal/Djokovic match on yesterday is "Nadal looks like he's injured or something. Either that or he's really tired." There were a few shots that Nadal hit yesterday where instead of moving to a perfectly normal ball he sort of lunged at it and didn't bend his legs. It looked like he wasn't trying for it. I do beleive that Nadal is injured, but I don't think it's bad enough to affect the outcome of the match.

Ahhh. You're completely right. I forgot. Fed doesn't care about winning and he always withdraws from tournaments all the time.

Who knows. Maybe he is starting his decline right now. I personally think he was lunging for shots because Djokovich was able to keep Nadal of balance and that made Nadal a little bit uncomfortable.

I'm talking about shots were Nadal is standing right in the middle of the baseline, and Djokovic hits a shot a little less than halfway between the middle of the court and the sideline. Instead of taking two steps and hitting a normal backhand, nadal would just stick his racquet out and play some half-a$$ed slice.

How dare you talk of Nadal in such way. Don't you know that Nadal can't lose. Nadal only loses matches when he's tired, injured, or the surface is different from other surface that he played. The altitude may be affecting his pants, etc. But when he wins, the surface is fine, or he played great, etc. Only Nadal gets the benefits of the doubt. Everyone either had easy draws or had breaks or the officials pulled something to help him win.

I agree with the OP. Fed should go the press and say things like Nadal is the greatest ever on clay. He would not lose a set until he gets to the final. He's #1 and he's the favorite. Fed should give the same BS craps that Nadal's camp been doing to him for years. Now he has the chance; he's #2. The legitimate underdog in any tourney that he enters. Fed should kick himself in the ass from time to time to remind him that he let a golden opportunity slipped away in 09AO final. He could record a slam there. But the win in Madrid did heal that wound a little, I hope.

Hello stupid, Nadal had a walkover. I guess he was tired from picking his ass during the walkover. Who's false was it to not take care of business. Fed beat a guy who beat the brains out of Nadal in Miami. I don't care what people say, Potro had a good win in Miami. Just because Fed destroyed his opponents, that didn't mean they were worthy of the competiton. Nadal would have taken twice as long to accomplish the same win because his game is based on moonballing his opponents until they had enough and go for the winners and make unforced errors. Nadal is nothing but a pusher at a level higher than Murray.

For 10 points, answer me this question.

Which player has NEVER retired from an ATP level match once in his whole career, Federer or Nadal?

Nadal is a gamer. Like Novak. He calls for the trainer whenever he's losing. He fell down in Wimbledon 08 and made a big stink about it. He was fine. It's head games. He played a 2-set 2nd round match, a 2-set quarter, and then a 3-set semifinal at Madrid. That's like practice for the pros.

Those are not excuses, they are reasons, they are only excuses when a player he doesn't like says something similar. Am I right or am I right? :)

I was there, man. Gonzalez was in the zone. The audience was just entranced. Never forget the experience.
