Will Federer use the stock Bollocks Tour?

So is Wilson going to claim Federer will use the new 6.1 Tour Balls, like they did with the K90? If Federer has indeed been using the stock K90, then at least no one here is going to believe that claim, right?

He IS using a stock K90... -.-

Geez... Next thing we know you'll go out saying "I've done extensive research and proved/come to the ultimate conclusion that Federer is using a stock K90 with some lead under the bumper!"

I actually think he used a stock K90 at one point without lead.

Federer's going to use a K90 under the BLX paintjob, or he might actually switch. Depends on how similarly they play.

If it really was "SHT", it wouldn't matter to me if it was "good" or "bad", as I prefer to flush it down the toilet. :)

However, I want to play with a BLX racquet!

Maybe Wilson will now change the meaning of "bollocks" to mean "awesome" or "fantastic" as in - "It's bollocks that I just won $100 million dollars and had sex with 5 supermodels at the same time!" :)

Well, it's funny you should say that, because "Bollocks" is always bad, but "The Dogs Bollocks" is good!

Don't ask me why, us Brits are just weird I guess:)

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a Wilson marketing campaign in the UK saying:-

"The new BLX racquets are The Dogs Bollocks"

(In fact maybe I should work for Wilson)

People that have played with both said it felt just like a nCode90, and we know that K90 plays and feels different from the nCode90. Plus, if it really was a K90, there would be no reason for them to put a longer handle pallet on it when it was supposed to be "Federer's racquet".

Which people?

I admit it is weird that they didn't put a shorter handle/pallet on it. But they did change the drill pattern to be exactly like a K90 and use Federer's strings. I'm not convinced either way at the moment!

When it came out a few years ago, there were many people on this board who bought them and tried them out and compared it to the stock retail nCode90.

Right. Firstly... Oh man, are you going to start all that macho 'you fail... next' rubbish?! For someone who dishes it out so readily and with such obvious relish, you're suddenly coming across rather thin-skinned and taking yourself a little too seriously, don't you think? We're all ultimately only having a laugh and 'playing' here, aren't we?!

Secondly (and I really can't let this go), re the remark literally equating 'KKK' with 'BLX' - why would I literally mean to equate the 2 when they mean such different things?! Come on, it was clear that I was making a general point about Wilson's new line name being an embarrassment, or joke, or massive error, or whatever. I mean, just like I clearly wouldn't say seriously and literally that 'BLX' is precisely the same as saying 'CRUD'... 'AHOLE!'... 'SHT!'.. 'GAY'... 'TIT'... (OMG... LOL)... it was blatantly obvious I wasn't making a literal word comparison/paring/equating of 'KKK' and 'BLX'.

I have to say I find this 'tactic' not only disingenuous, but the absolute embodiment of the term: 'morally reprehensible'.

Shame on you.

R.

You are fail.

Give up while you still have a chance to redeem yourself.

BLX means nothing to me, a consumer of Wilson products for 40 years.

If you cannot understand that then you only add to your epic failure.

Again, BLX does not come up on the first 3 pages in ANY major search engine as a derogatory, negative, or adversive assembledge of letters.

You equated BLX with several horribly negative connotations.

You failed.

I've tried both too, albeit with different strings, but the difference in feel and weight distribution was huge! If it weren't for that weight distribution difference, I wouldn't be surprised if they played exactly the same (meaning Wilson's [K]arophite black is just bull).

In the UK BLX simply means bollocks, which is probably the most used insult in the UK, for something that is rubbish.

Joel, you are not from the UK are you, so you obviously don't understand!

I think Ross is the Dogs Bollocks:)

Ross was joking mate, and you clearly didn't get it!

What's the big deal?

Yonex names its entire shoe line the "SHT" line: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/catpage-MSYONEX.html

The name hasn't hurt the sales of its shoe line one bit worldwide. I think only adolescent boys would be so wrapped up in an acronym for a product.

In any case, the bottom line is that the UK market for tennis racquets is miniscule as compared to the entire world as a whole so Wilson just didn't care enough to change the name for the rest of the world.

These guys in the ** freaking out over BLX is utterly pathetic.

Its no wonder one of their own will never win W.

Ouch.

Fail.

OK, fair enough!

I thought only 1000 of these Federer signature N90 racquets were made, but I'm not surprised that people around here have got them:)

I understand that.

But guess what?

You folks are not that high on Wilson's priority list of people to please.

So I'm sick of hearing the sound and fury of anti BLX anger every third thread.

Shouldn't you guys be using Head and Babs anyway?

Anyway, I'd still like to know if the new BLX 6.1 Tour 90 has Federer's signature on it?

Anybody here know?

Wait, we're not talking about the K90. There was no claim of any Karophite Black in the nCode90. We're talking about the limited edition nCode90 sold only in Japan for a few months in 2006 compared to the regular retail nCode90.

I think only UK people understand quite how funny BLX racquets are!
But that's the point. Wilson obviously doesn't care what people in the UK think. Ouch!

BTW, nobody in the U.S. knew what the title of that Sex Pistols album meant when it came out. I thought "Bollock" was a family name, as in "Never Mind the Smiths, Here's the Sex Pistols" or as in Sandra Bullock.

I honestly doubt that when Wilson called their new range BLX they knew what BLX stood for in the UK, and yes, you are of course right, they don't care anyway!

But the point is that, for people from the UK, calling your new range of racquets BLX is very very funny!

I know it isn't funny to Americans, but to Brits it is hilarious:)

jimbo,

'Never mind the BLX'!... love it mate!

Joel,

Er,

doesn't

Australia

and

New

Zealand

also

use

the

word

'bollocks'?

If

so

this

would

definitely

raise

the

numbers

somewhat.

Get

over

it.

:)

Okaaay... granted... the US, Europe, etc is by far the bigger market!

For those Americans/others unfamiliar with 'bollocks', BLX, whatever. How about this:

"It's a supreme racket! - the Wilson KKK!"...

"Fancy stepping out with the new Wilson CRUD?!"...

"Our testers totally raved about the amazing Wilson AHOLE!"...

"Del Potro enjoys the smooth yet firm new Wilson SHT!"...

"There's only one frame for Roger Federer! - the new Wilson GAY!"

"You'll never have a better time than when you've a Wilson TIT in your hands!"

Etc...

:)

R.

Nobody uses the word 'bollocks' in Australia unless they're doing a really bad impersonation of a British person

How were those? Do they have the shorter pallet like the K90? Or was it the same thing, just with Federer's signature?

(Who knows, I might've played with that instead of the regular n90. :) )

I doubt you played with it by "accident" because they were sold only in Japan for a short time and they were VERY expensive because they were limited edition and came with packs of strings, posters, pictures, autographs, and a bunch of fan stuff, and also because everything in Japan is so expensive.

The DID NOT have the shorter pallet like the K90. They had the same long pallet as the retail nCode90. The only differences were the string density at the PWS and Federer's signature on the side. I've never hit with one myself so I can only go by others who have.

I'm not even sure if the string density was any different either... The K90 was the 1st frame with such open string pattern if I remember right.

It was different. Wilson released that limited edition in Japan because there was so much speculation on the Internet that Federer was not using a real nCode90 as many had pointed out that his racquet had only 4 crosses at the PWS while the retail nCode90 had 5. So they drilled the nCode90 with 4 crosses at the PWS, put Federer's signature on the side, and sold them as "Federer's racquet" in Japan for a lot of money. But they forgot to shorten the pallet to make it look more like Federer's actual racquet. Good way for Wilson to wring more money out of an aging product that would be replaced by the K90 in less than a year though. :)
