didn't you read the original post??

It's true Radek uses Bosworth last I knew.

Yes I did, and then I answered it, it's not the question he asked because they're aren't any other pro's who use Bosworth. Try to think next time, but make sure you don't hurt yourself...

Someone has a quote from Lendl, i think, for his signature. It goes like: "My Bosworth 96 is simply the best racket i have ever used, period."

within the last month have purchased two Tour 96 frames and have to say after a long long affair with Volkl Tour 10 Gen 1 have made the switch. Rackets are the best I have ever played with. The folks at Bosworth are very professional spent alot of time working with me to make the racket most suited to my request. Simply love the way these sticks play.

Could you send me a pic of your Bosworths? I'm kinda intrigued by that frame, seems very interesting.

All the best

well its not many, if there are any other then the 2 mentioned here that use the rackets. However many pros use Bosworths custom weighting and balacing services. From time to time u will be able to spot a bosworth B on the buttcap ,

That is correct. If you walk in to their office, you can see about 50+ boxes with different names from Lendl, Navratilova, Cheng, to Young, Stepanek, etc. The guys are extremely professional and knowledgeable. And very friendly, too.

The website says they have this secret revolutionary grip. Navratilova said that until bosworgh all she had wAs a slice backhand. But with the bosworth grip she could now rip it down the line.

You have an info on this secret grip ?

Martina plays with an asymmetrical handle shape.

Asymmetrical handles really only benefit players with one-handed backhands.

At that, they are only suited to players who prefer a different handle shape for the forehand stroke than the backhand stroke.

Martina could have accomplished what she wanted from her backhand without the asymmetrical shape, but only at the expense of the forehand.

Essentially, the asymmetrical shape is an effort to combine the positive benefits of two different handle shapes.

There is really nothing secret or revolutionary about this type of handle, but it is a perfect example of how Bosworth can tailor equipment to a player's needs. Mind you, the trick lies not in building the asymmetrical handle, but rather in the expertise in knowing how, why, and when a player needs such a design.

Aren't you supposed to play some real stuff in CA these days? :)

Dont know bout secret handle but they did build me a customized handle that sure was alot better than the standard Volkl handle. Cant say enough bout their customer service.

You always hear good things about Bosworth, but it seems they dont go out of their way to advertise too much or sponsor players. I wonder if Stepanik just uses Bosworth beacause its the right racquet for him. Probably at this point they sponsor him in someway. You never really see their racquets on tour or at the local clubs atleast not in my area.

I think that is what they are talking about. So what do they do with the
handle ? Do they mold it to your hand or something?

Would they change the handle of my current stick?

they took measurement of my hand and matched it with a exact grip size. Next they discussed with me what kind of strokes I had and that combined with the handle of my current frame recommended a different handle to my Tour 10 Gen 1 that would be better suited to my style of play. They were spot on it is so much better than my old frame. I cant speak for them but you could give them a call and they could tell you if they would make the new mold. They are very professional and easy to talk to. Hope this helps:)

So you are not using a bosworth but a tour 10 with a new handle ?

I have sort of done my own crude Bosworth grip augmentation. I got the idea from the power V grip. Have you seen that? It's basically a small piece of rubber that goes under your over grip. Sort of the same idea as the babolat smart grip but more pronounced.

The problem with the power V was that it was too thick for my hand. So I basically got like five pieces of double sided mountin tape and put them under my over grip.

The increased power and angles I get is amazing. Most people pay attention to only the strings and the racquet....but the grip is probably more important than both in my opinion. How you hold the racquet and how the face of the racquet hits the ball I have found is equally if not more important than the strings and the stick.

I am sure that all of the pros have customized grips however at our level it's cometely ignored and everyone just uses the stock grip.

I am actually more interested in the Bosworth grip than the racquet.....lol.

No I had a 2 Bosworth Tour 96 custom made and that included the grip and handle..I used to play forever with a Volkl Tour 10 Gen 1 whose handle did not completely complement my playing style or strokes. Call them see what they can do

I just realize that the user i was referring to is no other than the notorious vsbabolat. Shame on me about that.

Here's his actual signature: Lendl declares his Bosworth Tour 96 as “simply the greatest racquet I’ve ever hit with, period.”

Interesting, I could not agree with you more about how important the shape of the handle is. I was curious if you tried the new Power V Grip II. It is only 1/8 of an inch high, half the size of the original PVG. It's not so dramatic of a change yet the increase in the size of bevel 2 and 4 can have a dramatic impact, especially if the SW and Cont are an important part of your game.

Best regards,
