I bought them from the PowerBalance company themselves so they were 100% authentic. It shouldn't be a magnet tbh. Its the same material as the backside of a CD where they programme the frequency on.
The tests always worked, but what bothered me the most was customers returning because their PowerBalance's ripped and the company only exchanged the one's where the silicone above the hologram ripped. Had a major discussion with them and decided to stop the distribution of it... But that's personal feelings! To make matters worse they upped the retail price.

In the end i believe it to be a placebo and if people want to spend 34,95€ that will make their minds think it works its fine by me. I did the same tests with a regular bracelet with someone and it gave the same result.
We will never know untill the truth is proven... wich they (so far) cannot!
