I cant tell the difference now, hes injured in every match he plays;)

I have this friend who always pretends somethings wrong with him when Im up a break or set. Maybe he learned from Rafa?

But this was the 3rd game and Rafa had just broken back and was back on serve. I'm pretty sure even Ferru didn't really think he(Ferrer) would win. So... there is absolutely no reason to believe it was fake. You don't think he knew what was on the line for him when he came here?

Of course, you're right. Just saying I get the impression that every time he loses it's because he's injured, if he has physical issues every time I pity the guy, I really do but it happens so often that I can't tell the difference if he's fit or not anymore, especially cause he said he was at his 100 % and ready to compete right before the tournament.

Btw Meg you look just like Nadal!

:D It's the blue shirt isn't it?

Well, this whole 100% thing comes up a lot, but players will ALWAYS say they are a 100%. You don't want your opponent to know that you might not be at your best. If you have some injury that hinders your movement and you declare it, your opponents will make sure they make you run. I think they are all aware that when you come to play, it means you are ready to play. You will never see a top player say, well the only reason they won is because I was injured or sick, or whatever. The debate is, should it even be mentioned. When it comes to Fed and Nadal, the journos really press them for an answer and talk about any injury that they suspect they have.
Anyway, lol, not really looking to go back and forth on the issue, but that just what I think.

This report says that Nadal got some scans will be audi two weeks at most so no harm done as he already had February off. So he will most likely be back for IW and Miami where he has 2 SF to defend.

Thanks for the update! That means Nadal will play the Davis Cup against Belgium, and then IW, Miami. So maybe his injury is not that serious?

I guess everything depends now on how Nadal schedules and whether he arrives fit at F.O and Wimb. Whatever slams he's lost in the past 2 years, has been with injuries. To me, Nadal is a clear favorite on both clay and grass. Clay for obvious reasons, and on grass because most guys play crap there and his only true rival is Roger Federer. Anyway, the summer season will be important coz the ranking could easily shift with two majors and several 1000 events back to back..

I think he said he is planning on playing DC but it's not a 100% sure.

Not serious as in you have to take several months off but enough to impair him in a GS match. It just impaired his movement, if it was very painful he couldn't have sat on court for three sets. So bummer for Nadal but at least he won't have to take too much time off.

Rafa confirms a 2 cm tear.

Rafael Nadal has confirmed that he has a 2 cm muscle tear after injury against David Ferrer. The Manacor, who witnessed the defeat against Sporting Mallorca confirmed the injury that set him apart for glory at the Rod Laver Arena. "I knew it was not very important, but a tear is a tear," Nadal told Radio late.
"You see many times on TV when the football players break down as they have to rest at least one week and must be replaced. What happens is that I had no one on the bench that could replace me."
"I tried to follow all the way into the match against Ferrer and could not perform at the level that my opponent demanded."
In addition, Nadal acknowledged, "It was a beginning of the year not very favorable" and said his feelings were positive prior to the tournament. "In December I trained very well. I got wrong in Doha, I arrived in good condition to Abu Dhabi. Then, in Australia, I was sweating more than usual and it seemed I had overcome all this and after playing a good match against Cilic came this tear ".
Finally spoke about his return to training. "It depends on my progress, but it makes sense to stop two weeks. These days I have planned a recovery job."

is this your attempt of a witty response?

Is this your attempt at a witty question?

You failed in 2 points:
1)do you even know what flaming is? if you dont then stop using it How can I use something I don't know?

Because you're thick?

Or maybe Im unaware of what Im doing?

How would i know, banned troll?

2)Anyway, you asked a question about nsk, and i asked you how does it feel like being banned

My question wasn't sarcastic cause I really wanna know what happened to him. You hit back flaming.

My question wasnt sarcastic either cause i really wanna know what if felt like being banned. You insecurely thought i was flaming.

Better luck next time

responses in bold. better luck nex.... oh wait:oops:

An injury can happen at any moment. Just because he said he felt 100% before the match doesn't mean he can't get injured DURING the match...

Really? Gee, you could have fooled me! I understand that and that is why I also used the word "may" in my response to your post. None of us know what will happen with Rafa or anybody else for that matter. We only speculate.

Might and may mean the exact same thing. Where did I say he would win? I fail to see the point you're trying to make. I've explained it twice, and Meg did too. Why are you still posting about this? Sheesh!

Viva Barca!!

Down with Madrid

LOL. Madrid couldn't be more down that they have been. They haven't won CL(or even made it past QF stage) since forever and they've pretty much been owned by Barca in la Liga. And I say this as a guy who was mesmerized by the Madrid team of the late 90's-early 00's.

The way Djokovic played in the 2nd week of the AO open, he should be a big threat to Nadal on hardcourts. This week the Djoker looked even better than he did in UsO 2010. I also believe that Delpo will be back to his best pretty soon.

Hardcourt majors will become SUPER hard for everyone from this pt with 4 or 5 "equally" solid contenders. Nadal must try and grab as many F.O/Wimb as he can, because of lower competition there (for now).

Djokovic played well at this AO. But he also played well in the USO final. Nadal just played better that day on a faster surface. When you add things like 2X to your posts, some people might be impressed, but other people just get depressed. ;)

I agree with the bolded parts of your post.

Ok..Edited. Well, I am not saying that Nadal wouldn't have beaten him. In fact among the current players who could have beaten Djokovic this week, the only one is potentially a 100% Nadal.

But it's a fact that Djokovic has improved a LOT since UsOpen. His serve alone is almost twice as good. He's doing some excellent spot serving: out wide, down the middle -very close to the lines, and then following up with a massive forehand for a 1-2 punch. His serve is NOW a weapon in a way that it wasn't last year. I also think he's far more aggressive on his forehand and hitting a bigger flatter ball.

Anyway, I still suspect Djokovic has the breathing problems - so maybe he suffers in a long match because of that. But they way he played here, he will now enter every hardcourt slam as a solid co-favorite along with Fed and Nadal.

I love the Djoker and he played great throughout the AO this year but... he's notoriously inconsistent. Sure he poses a threat to Rafa (and Fed!) on his day but I'd like to see some consistency on his part first before I can fully buy into the idea that he's constantly going to be a favourite. Rafa and Federer have earned that moniker, not so sure Djoker on the basis of a hot run and frankly that's all it is at the moment, does. I hope he makes me eat my words though.

Unlike a few others, I think Rafa will actually improve on HCs as his career progresses. The USO last year was a great start (duh!) and I don't think that was some fluke showing. We all know Rafa is constantly improving, he's at his zenith on clay, is near that on grass but it's the HC and indoors that needs improving and I think he'll do just that. He might not be as prolific a winner on those surfaces but I think he'll surprise a few people with his successes in the future.

^^^ 100% Nadal would not have beaten the Djoker that beat Fed in straight sets.

Sorry, but there is simply no way to know, because that meeting never happened. Also, Novak beating Fed tells us nothing about how his performance against Rafa would or wouldn't have been. Keep trollin' tho!

Of course there is no way to know, any idiot knows that. But talk tennis is not based on knowledge. 90% of the posts on this board are based on subjective interpretation and speculation.

Exactly. And I agree with you. Nadal would've probably lost in straight sets if he somehow got to player Djokovic. But it was clear that everything was going to be a struggle for Nadal regardless and not his tournament.

How does it feel to have you boy steamrolled in yet another Slam final? At least Nadal would have put up a better show than Murray. :)

Seen what Djokovic has done to Nadal in Cincy? He is playing even better than that now. Has his big serve back. Nadal would have no chance. With these heavy conditions, Nadal would struggle to get the ball up high.

Djokovic played fantastic these last two weeks, and no one is happier about it than I am, but as mentioned before, these are two different opponents.

For one thing, Rafa wouldn't have packed it in as quickly as Murray did in the beginning of the first game in the second set. Djokovic would have known he was going to be in for a battle, and if he didn't totally smash him, it was going to be a long night. That in itself changes the complexion of things.

Djoker might have the slight edge on hardcourts, but one thing we know about Rafa is that he's going to keep improving as long as he's on tour, and that's a comfort.

That sounds like you were stating a fact, not speculating.

If you interpret a statement like that as fact, then that says more about you than anything else. How on earth could I know that for sure? Are you for real? Of course it was speculation regardless of "how" it was written.

Yes I think we can safely say Murray and Rafa are about as far opposite in GS Finals level as it gets. Also Djokovic has never beaten Rafa in a big match which has to hurt him mentally

Lol, well I believe you then. Although, on these boards it's not entirely unrealistic for people to KNOW, how things would, have unraveled. Throwing in a "probably" or "might" or "I think" helps separate the crazies from the rest :)

What? Cincy is not a best of 5. What I've seen is what Rafa has done to Djoko at USO and AO is a much slower surface than either Cincy or USO.

Ha ha babbette: it's much tougher than real Rafa, it's funny.
They shouldn't have tried to "improve" him. He's great the way he is...

Nadal struggles on slow hardcourts. Haven't you noticed that? Or maybe more to do with heavy conditions than the actually court speed. Nadal's shots don't get the big kick in those conditions to give players problems.
