Wozniacki switches to Yonex

Pictures of her were when she was younger. They mentioned Yonex in the article. Babolat must buy more ad space than Yonex, otherwise the picture would have been replaced.

Caroline won Dubai.
It seems the Yonex V-Core 100 gave her an extra gear, and it's only been 3 months.
Interesting thing is, I feel she will never change rackets again, like most players that sign with Yonex.
I guess Yonex must be a great company to deal with players.
Babolat must be really hurt.

I ordered my 98D, 100S and an EZONE 100 demo to try out.

Im trying not to buy rackets, because I keep all of them, but I am interested in some: Yonex RQiS 1 Tour( I never forget this racket), V-Con X18(great for customizing), V-Core 95D and the EZONE Light(great for customizing).

Yeah, I keep going back to my RQiS 1 Tour even though I've "switched" to the RDiS 200.

I just like the nimbleness of the 95 head size. The 98 (RDiS 200) doesn't feel as maneuverable, but I volley a tad bit better with it because of the extra 3 sq inches.

I haven't ordered the V-Core 95D, but I want to. I got mine from a competitor who let me put in my order now; so I got the top 3 I'd most likely switch to. I might hit up TW for the 95D and UD-Ti80 Lite.

Buckethead, which racket is supposed to be more powerful ? Yonex Ezone 107 or Vcore 100 Wozniaki ??? TW say it is Ezone 107 but i am not so sure because Vcore 100 is alot more stiffer, and stiffer rackets generate more power.
and where do you think Prince EXO3 RED 2011 fit in there ? i hit with this frame yesterday and i thought it was slightly more powerful than Ezone 107 even. but weird thing is Ezone 107 seem more powerful on serving..

I assume the EZONE 107. But you can make the V-Core 100S as powerful as the E107, but probably it'll not play like the E107.
V-Core 100 isn't a lot stiffer than the EZONE, but the EZONE is bigger with a bigger sweet spot, so the power is on the sweet spot.
EXO3 Red would probably fit in between, but closer to 107, but i doubt it plays close to either one. Prince makes rackets with no feel and cheap materials, pretty much hollow crappy rackets.
Have you tried the SFIT 3, look at that one as well. I think EZONE 100 was great racket for who looks for power and really stable. The EZONE line I can already think is the best line for that tweener market. I can't see people taking any racket over those.

RQiS 1 tour was really, really nice with the exception of the hoop being thick.
But that was probably what brought that racket that feel and the paint job it is so beautiful.
URD Ti 80 Version is another racket with great feel, but I still like my RDS mids and the R-22 as my main rackets. The consumption is killing me now, because I am almost buying a few rackets of a couple lines. We'll see.

Sorry if this is wrong thread.

How much you willing to pay for Yonex RQiS 1 Tour?

Hi. I just saw the game, repetition obviously. Good, powerful strokes. Do you think she customizes her racket. Why and how?

Do you think she hits the ball more in the center or brushes the ball going under the ball looking to generate topspin?

Wouldnt the VCore 98 suit her control game better than the 100?

Good mental toughness for CWoz.:)

With all the respect, I am not her, I don't know what she likes or doesn't, but obviously the V-Core suits her game better, since she plays with it.
You can go with the V-core 100S, you'll be satisfied.

Let's not kid ourselves, she plays with the V-Core because they pay her to do so. She even said publicly that she can play with anything, and was switching brands for the contract. Yonex make good racquets, but her using them has nothing to do with that.

I was talking about between the V-Cores that was offered to her and she probably chose the 100S because it's the one that suits her game better. So read it again.
Now I do believe she is playing better with the Yonex V-Core 100S due to its superiority.
It happens to everybody. I played with the Volkl DNX 10 mid for sometime and switched to Yonex RDS mid, I noticed I could play better, much better, because it was a superior racket performance.
I tested the EZONE 100 and I knew it was a superior racket to anything Babolat has, whether its because the material, design, you name it.

I will be testing some other Yonex rackets and i will decide if I should switch or not, obviously If i switch it's because it's better for me.
That also happens in the Pro's world when a company makes better rackets. Look at Davydenko, Verdasco and Berdych as some examples.

My answers would be:

Caro combines hitting in center in defense shots and returns of serve and brushing the ball for offensive topspin. Occasional flat backhand down the line.

If she customizes, very liitle, it affects her racket speed.

She prefers the 100 because she has a controlled, topspin oriented game, no need for a 98.

Pretty good answers and I Iam not her, but I watch some pros carefully- Nalbandian, Nadal, Federer, Djockovic, Caro, Djocovic, Schiavone and the other day I watched Alexandr Dolgolopov. I learn alot by doing this.

Anyhow, thank you for your kind interest and help.

PS-
I bought the VCore S. Alelluyah, no more questions for now

Fair points, but keep in mind that she wasn't really "offered" V-Cores specifically. She was offered to play with whatever she wanted that they made, as long as she used the V-Core cosmetics. If she stays with Yonex for at least two years, you'll certainly see her "switch" frames at that point if not sooner, although it's unlikely that the actual frame will be any different. Her main goal while switching frames from Babolat would have been to have as little change about the frame as possible, not game improvement (which is the goal when a recreational player like yourself switches). In fact, the examples you gave are good ones, because two of the three of them are cases where the new company couldn't make a frame similar enough to what they already used, so they went back to their existing frames. It has nothing to do with "better" or they all would use the same frame. It has to do with what they're used to.

The reason paint jobs exist is so that they can have players appear to play with whatever they want to market while using the frame that is closest to what the player already uses. So her appearing to use a particular frame means nothing, as I originally said. If she is using a stock V-Core 100s it's not because it's the best or most suited to improving her game, it's because it has the closest specs to her previous racquet, with the other V-Core models being further away.

As for Woz's level of play, I think we should probably wait until the year is over before we declare that she's playing better or worse. Then we can compare results and argue about whether it's due to the racquet. Way too early to tell if there's even a difference now.

It's very clear now much you love Yonex...and I don't disagree at all, since they're excellent racquets. But it's important to keep an objective point of view when discussing a pro's use of a racquet and the reasons for it.

A win against Kuznetzova and finalist againt Zvonareva in last two tournaments is pretty good.

I think she has to figure Zvonarevas game as they play similarly. Also, keep developing the offensive game and improve her serve in order to get some free points through aces and service winners.:)
