I love the colour and design of AO 08 Breathe..

Aren't those cages the 'Engine Red' colourway from later on? I can't remember which season they're from, but I'm sure they're a later colour than the Oz open '08 ones. I think those were a more orangey colour weren't they?

I'm leaning towards something from 2009. I know that Nadal started wearing the courtballistecs at the 2009 Australian Open. The last cages that I can remember were the gray and yellow ones that Delpo wore at the 2009 US Open. But yes, they are the engine red ones, not the orange ones that were from the first release back in 08.

I thought it is the 2008 Australian Open because the style is really similar and I've seen it in mrs-boots that it was also written as Australian Open 2008.. and Nadal wore green in FO 08, White/Red(inside) during USO 08, while Wimbledon is always white..then he changed into CB in 2009..

2009 When he won the semi with Verdasco...The first slam he played with the CB 1.3 was the French Open (white/black/pink ones)

I am not sure if Nike released two colorways really similar, Zasr4325 might be right

yeah, Rafa's colourway for US Open is red for the cage, but for the retail edition, the red is inside the cage.. :) not sure for AO 08, but for me, they look the same with the pic posted by tennis_enthusiast.. but I am not sure because Zasr4325 said AO 08 is more orangey..

Well, I honestly don't remember all the models from 2008, but I think you might be right ( about myself, I own the Wimbledon ones )

I hope so, I remember the shoes because I helped my friend to buy the AO 08 and USO 08 and I have FO 08 and I think no other Cage is similar with AO 08 except USO 08(because of the red and white) during that year..

Nike did somewhat re-release that colorway. The colors were Engine1 with black. The colors Rafa wore in the '08 Oz Open were Engine1(600/630) and Soft Grey(002).

Just to clear up any confusion about the cage 2s. The ones tennis_enthusiast posted were originally released back at the 2010 Oz open I believe, mainly because of del potro's continued use of them and his recent success at the us open probably leading Nike to believe the line could still sell well. So they released this engine red colourway, which is slightly different from the original cage 2 colourway.

The original cage 2s

The slightly updated ones released for the 2010 Oz open. Delpo didn't wear these (he had moved onto Nike's "replacement" shoe, the breathe 2K10s) which does make it seem a tad strange that Nike would release another colourway if one of their top players wasn't going to promote it.

Rafa was wearing the cage 2s in the courtballistec PJ colours for the entire spring hard court season in 2009, and only switched to the courtballistec 1.3s during the clay season. Delpo continued to use the cage 2s throughout 2009, and after winning the US open and getting to the WTF final in them, Nike probably wanted to capitalise on his success, so they re-released the cage 2s in the engine red colourway for the 2010 Aussie open.

I haven't worn the White/Black 7's. Hence the colour haha. Picked the White/Black/Blue up first and liked them, so got the White/Black and White/navy/red ones on sale as well. The cages are pretty good though.

Love my shoes. The cages are hand painted. Never wore the other two cages or the vapor V. I want to sell one of the cages and the vapor V. Also my most favorite federer crew. Too bad its a little too big for me...

Nice, I'm liking the new range of Bab shoes, especially the red ones. How do they feel? (I've been using Barricades for about 4 years!).

I can't speak for the new Bab's 3 but the propulse 2- I have those same pair above- they felt great, very comfy, great feel of the court- However- coming from CB's they lack support for me. They're a very flexible shoe- and for me there's not enough support- my knees started to hurt and I had never experienced that before- so I went back to the CB's, but wear the propulse because they're just that comfy!

Very comfortable and well ventilated. The fitting is amazing due to the velcro straps eliminating the empty spaces in the shoes. The VibraKill thing does eliminate shock quite well. Compared to my old shoes, the Barricade V, these are a lot better.
