I shouldn't hit the ball there but I find the upper stringbed to be seriously dead, any advise with that? Other than hitting the ball with the sweetspot of course

I have one of those too. I agree about the upper stringbed, I think it's because it's more headlight than the more recent ones. You could try adding some weight along the top of the frame.

Do you think the M Pro is better in that regard?

In that regard yes, but I like the stiffness of the older ones better. The sweet spot on the older ones seem sweeter as well. But on the other hand I like the newer grip shape.

Both are great, I could play with either, really. If I were playing with the older Pro One I would string a bit tighter and add a bit of weight to the top. With the new one I would string looser and never touch poly. Both are setups that work for me personally.

Just picked up a M-comp 95. Looking forward to having it strung and getting out on court with it.

two piece stringjob

I'm interested in having the crosses strung 2-3lbs lower than the mains in pursuit of a more uniform stringbed in my pro no1. Any advice, especially on the stringing pattern will be appreciated.

thanks in advance

Any thoughts on set-up for the M-comp 95? I've read where you should string in the lower 50's. I might go with the tour bite/vanquish hybrid, but am open to suggestions.

Fischers have long seemed interesting to me, so this week I am demo'ing an X-Force Pro, along with a few other frames known for good feel and elbow-friendliness.

The first day, with all frames stock, the Pacific performed nicely, and each shot had a pleasant "aftertaste" (that's the best description I can give) that I reckon is the Fischer Feel so many talk about. It was the reason I found myself looking forward to picking up the Pacific more so than the other frames (C10 Pro, Vantage BC20 & BC30, PK Black Ace 98, PK Ki5 PSE, if it's of interest).

Today, I weighted most of the above to about 350g and 350 kg•cm^2, which for the Pacific meant ~12g at 10&2, and it seemed to erase that pleasant aftertaste. There was instead a hollowish, 'pong'-like reverberation from the strings. It went away when I damped the two center mains, but even then only a little of the previous day's feel remained.

So, to any afFischernados reading this:

1. Is this a common perception, that the Fischer feel is dependent on a particular weight range, or is it more likely I was just feeling things differently from one day to the next?

2. Since string vibration seems to be part of the aftertaste, do Fischers keep their feel even with the odd vibrations of co-poly strings? (The Pacific demo is strung with a multi.)

3. Would the older Fischers with ceramic in the layup have more of this pleasant aftertaste than the later graphite/fiberglass frames?

1. I'm not sure.

2. I found the racquets still had good feel with co-poly strings.

3. I had a VT Pro 98 and it was so much better than a Pro No. 1 that I had.

Sadly, I sold all of my Fischer racquets.

Hi Anyone still using the Fischer Magnetic Tour UL? I think it is the same as the Pacific X Feel tour. The Mag Tour UL seems to need a little lead, in order to improve power. Any recommendations on string set up and modifications to improve spin/power?
Thanks

Anyone at all?

My pro is getting rid of a M-Pro 1 98 UL and I may pick it up if the price is right. I'm playing an M-Com 95 so I like a racquet with more heft to it.

Is anyone playing with this stick now? Also, how well does the M Pro adapt to adding lead and where did you add it?

Thanks

Edit: I also may leave it stock and give it to my wife.

silicon in the handle

and this is what I see

i535_img-6377.jpg

under the foamy thing there is more silicone. does it mean previous owner custmosied the frame with silicone or all pro no1s have it?

by the way I'm in need of 1 or 2 zero tolerance series pallets in size 5 in case anyone has spare

pallets

I have some extra sets of size 4 pallets; no 5. Let me know if interested.

thank you Keifers but I have the older style pallets in size 4 on my pro no1 and they somewhat smallish in my hand. maybe I need to consider using overgrips. I have seen a message of yours regarding size 5 pallets, did you manage to find any?

I looked high and low, called and emailed many retailers. Found only one set. :(

note to self; never buy a fischer racquet assuming you can change grip size.

keifers, can you give me a quote for 2 sets plus shipping cost to Turkey (if you would ship Turkey). If you could send me an email (cavusogluk@yahoo.com) it will be easier for me to contact you when I gave up looking for size 5 pallets.

Picked up a M Comp 95 on the bay for 40 bucks. Great condition. I use a K six-one 16x18 and they play very similar. The Fischer seems more solid but that could be due to the strings(it has synth gut, the wilsons have poly/multi hybrid jobs). Even though spec wise, I know that the Fischer is more flexible it feels more solid than the K 95's. Great racket.

What is unstrung weight of your M Comp 95? Is it printed on the frame?

What color is the pj?

Thanks.

^^^ Thanks.

I got one too a couple of months back (magnetic speed, not black granite) and I agree, it's a very solid feeling stick. Started looking for one after I demoed the Pacific X Feel Pro 95 and was very impressed.

Have you put your own strings in it yet?

Email sent, craniopath.

Who bought out the Fischer line anyway? Tey had a very distinct clunk at impact. I always liked them, ashame if nobody kept the vac tech they employed.

I concur, if pacific were to use vacuum tech they would have by now.

also I think we should all booo pacific for not making the pallets available to public, there are lots of fischer users looking for pallets.

I was having some arm issues so I switched to my Fischer M-Pro 98 UL. It's very easy on my arm, plus I'm getting nice spin off the ground and some pop on my serve.

Pro No. 1 (98) string tension

I was curious to know what tension you string your racquets at? What strings you use, hybird etc.? I have a few Black Granites No. 1's and love them. I also have a few of the older versions. Thanks...........................

I just recently switched to the Pacific X-Force Pro, which as I understand it, is the Black Granite Pro No 1, and I'm stringing them @ 56lbs w/ full Solinco Tour Bite 18g.

just got my hands on an early Pro n. 1 Silver/red/black 330 grams. the seller told me that the frame was basically a Vt pro 98, same mold. if so, i should be very happy..

It is.

Kaflenikov used to play with the VT Pro 98 - blue, silver and pink - and then used the same model under various paintjobs. This red and silver is one of those.

Great frame, very stable with that Fischer feel, using the vacuum technics graphite and ceramics. Enjoy it !

Great news from you. the only pro n1 version i have in my collection is the Ft 325 grams version,a good frame, but too dampened for my taste. again, i don't like too much the extra lenght of the frame. Hope this works better..

Is anybody here familiar with the Fischer M Speed Pro Number One Light 105 (the lighter version, red and green)? How does it play? I'm thinking about getting one and adding some weight.

Both my Vac 90 Pro handles are molded in the same material as the rest of the racquet body. No hard foam or hairpin to speak of.

steel screws

has anyone tried replacing the plastic screws holding the pallets together with steel/brass ones?
if not can I be the first

I do not have that model to compare, but, Fischer is not a target for fake makers, I doubt your racquets are not original. As far as I know the last generations of Fischer were all made in China. Best way to find it out is to string one and look for the unique feel and arm friendlyness of Fischer. No way a fake is going to feel like the real thing.

Wantin to try an older Fischer

I have 4 Fischer Pro No One 98s (SL, No tolerance)

I like them quite a bit, and have been using them for over 2 years now -- while I don't think they are exactly "perfect" for me, I haven't found anything better.

But I've heard that some of the older Fischers are ever more comfy, more solid and more stable. So I'm interested in trying something, but I don't know much about the old offerings.

Can anyone offer suggestions? If there is anything that doesn't have a tapered beam but is more constant, that might be good for me. Feel is really important and I want it my frames to feel rock solid and "plush."

But the other thing that is important is that I need something I can actually find a few of in either 4 3/8 or 4 1/2. I'm actually looking for something that I might consider switching to, so availability (even used) is important.

Speed Pro? Vacuum something or other? Black Granite? I don't really even know the differences or what's what when it comes to the older offerings, so suggestions and explanations are greatly appreciated.

Ask Blackfrido if he still has those pro tour ft's. I think those were the best racquets fischer produced in the last 15 years. totally underrated. solid yet plush. Like a modern version of the early Pro Staff 85 (I hate the china ones).

Ok, I'll look into it. I think on of the things I like least about the Pro No Ones I have is the thinkness of the beam as it gets towards 12 o clock. When I play with other frames have have like a 20 to 22mm straight beam, I feel I can cut through the air much more easily. I really notice a definitely difference on serve, where with a straight beam racquet I can get more spin when I want to.

Just an FYI...there were two incarnations of the 'Pro Tour FT':

A red version:
princeandfischer011medikd9.jpg

and a yellow version (not to be confused with the yellow 'Pro Tour FT Extreme'):
fischer-pro-tour-ft-tennis-racquet.jpg

I'm not sure if there is any difference between the two, but I used the red version ~ 10 years ago and was not that impressed.

However, I really did like the M-Comp 95, which I used for over 3 years. 20mm straight beam, very low powered, and tons of feel. The only issue is its a 95, not a 98 like the Pro No 1 & Pro Tour.

And I agree on the beam width of Pro No 1s. I'm using the Pacific X-Force Pro (effectively the Pro No 1), and it took me a while to adjust after years of using 20-21mm straight beams.

When I first saw it's specs, I immediately thought of the Progressor NT, but that was 98 sq in and 16x20 pattern. So the best I can tell, it is a 100% new mold.

I'm interested in it for some of my high school players (I coach a girls team). It seems to be a Pure Drive clone.
