RIDICULOUS stat! Not even Nadal, Joko or Murray have that kind of result
The last time he lost to someone outside the top 20 was to Hewitt at Halle in 2010. He was ranked #32 at the time.Federer had won 73 matches in a row against players outside the top 20 (now 74 after his win today).
Way better than that. He won 124 consecutive matches in slams against opponents ranked outside the top 5.
The streak ended when he lost to the then #6 ranked Del Potro in the 2009 US Open final.
Nadals best streak in this regards is only 24 matches I believe.
As I said above: Hewitt at Halle, in 2010.btw, who was the last player ranked outside the top 20 to beat him and when did this happen?
Absolutely glorious and gorgeous stat. Was watching Indian Wells and one of the commentators mentioned a nice stat.

TBh, aside from Murray, it doesnt seem like the top guys lose to players outside the top 10 or so that often.
When *is* the last time Nole or Rafa lost to someone outside the top 20?
I am thinking it was not any time soon.
Very recently comparitively. Nishikori and Mayer
hmm, I wanted to say Mayer, but I thought he was like 17 or so at the time.
Yet another useless Federer stat.
