I have been demo-ing both sticks for a couple of hours, and while I enjoyed both, there's no clear winner. Both have their merits and drawbacks. So I'm curious if anyone had some insights to share after hitting with both for a longer period and with different string setups (non-demo).
I currently use the Donnay Platinum 94 and I'm looking for a stick with a bit more Power and more stability on volleys.
Spec-wise the three are VERY similar, but play quite differently.
In my Opinion, the Prestige MP leads in Power and Stability, the 95D in Spin (most open pattern of the Bunch), the Plat in Comfort and Serving.
Questions:
- I would like to love the Prestige MP, but of the three I found access to Spin and Serving toughest. Wondering if that's because of grip-shape/demo strings. Does it get better with a different string setup and/or change of pallets? Any thoughts?
- Enjoyed the Yoni, but off-center hits felt harsher than the PMP. Also, didn't really enjoy Volleys that much. Had one demo with Yonex 850 strings (felt great) and one with Sensation (god-awful) - astounded by the difference with similar strings. Should I drop this one from the list or is there a setup that makes this one absolutely kill it?
Thanks for the Help!!
here's the direct spec comparison:
