Now that we have blue clay I wanted to open the debate. Which surface do you think plays more like Clay, Madrid, Australian Open, French Open or Wimbledon?

What do you think?

It was a serious thread, I just added the French Open option as a joke. But I genuinely wanted to talk about the homogenisation of surfaces.

Surfaces change every year so we only really know after the tournament is done and we have a winner.

For example:

Nadal wins Wimbledon = Wimbledon is playing like clay
Federer wins Wimbledon = Wimbledon is playing like a real grass court
Djokovic wins Wimbledon = Wimbledon is playing somewhere in between grass and clay
Anyone else wins Wimbledon = incomprehensible. Can't happen.

You can apply the same logic to the others. Hope this helps.

OK. Well, last year all the clay surfaces were faster. Thus Nadal had a problem beating Djokovic.

This year, it looks like its back to slow clay as Nadal is winning.

Madrid looks pretty fast, but we won't know until after Sunday. Stay tuned.........

This, pretty much.

But in all seriousness Wimbledon surface speed is terrible

I can't say for sure until Sunday afternoon what surface is being used in Madrid, but I can already conclude that it isn't clay.

Stay tuned......
