Is Roger Federer a James Bond character?

Roger's choice in watches is Rolex. Bond uses Omega (at least these days).

Bond always wins in the end and gets the girl...since 2009 Roger hasn't been doing either particularly consistently - not as many slams due to Rafa and Novak dominating + he got married so other girls are not much of an option now (unless his Nike buddy Tiger Woods has been getting in his head).

At best he could now be regarded as an excellent sidekick - a bit like Rhodes to Stark's Iron Man these days. With regards Bond, no character as such springs to mind though.

To Mirka.

Gosh, even I am doing better.

When Roger (Federer) meets either Ivo or Issie, I am reminded of the Rio tramcar fight between Sir Roger (Moore) and Richard Kiel (Jaws) in Moonraker.

If you mean always looking completely unintrested in what he's doing and showling little emotion...then yes

I'd love to see just once Roger make a great point turn to the crowd with both fist raised (allah Jimmy Conners) and get the crowd in an uproar.

I love his game I just wish he would unleash more emotion during the match...and not just wait till the end to cry.

Another difference is that Bond gets the good looking women. Though of late the Bond heroines have not been up to the mark, like Bond himself.

That's really not that hard. I don't know many straight males who would want someone like Mirka, let alone marry her.
Everyone isn't shallow enough to want trophy wives. One shouldn't judge a book by its cover, why do that for a human being you wish to spend your life with.

Fed's proabably has some absurd fetish that she is fine with so having a hot women means nothing if she is not willing to do what you want.

I mean you can look at hot women anytime

but whos going to rub themselves down with basalt crystals and let you spank them with a tennis raquet while they feed you chocolate truffles?

All I am saying is he could've done much better.

There are beautiful women who have a great personality.

From what I have seen, all of the tennis players that have hot wives/girlfriends get extremely distracted and do not play as well. The two "sorta" exceptions are Nadal and Djokovic.

Agassi married Brooke Shields, who's a lot hotter than Steffi Graf. However he was miserable with Brooke but is now happily married to Graf.

Fed is happy with mirka and his twins. There's nothing more for him to do better. Capiche?

Mirka is average looking. There are plenty of average looking males who would get married to her in a heartbeat.

Seriously, do you think the average joe marries supermodels unconditionally? :???:

Who would be the villian bad guy: Novak or Rafa?

Novak reminds me a little of Scaramanga, with Nadal of course being Nick Nack.

Ah, so that's why he's sponsored by Lindt...

LOL to both responses.

Mats Wilander would be great as Karl Stromberg, Ana Ivanovic as Xenia Onatopp, Guy Forget as General Orlov, Nicolas Mahut as Dominic Greene and Ivan Lendl as Hugo Drax.

Thinking about this - Boris Becker would make a particularly charismatic and cool Bond villain, he should just play himself in the next Bond movie:

"Ah Mr Bond, my croupier awaits us both"

Oh, I beg to differ. But to each his own.

Average is a bit of an overstatement here, no?

You've answered your own question. And for all we know, your partner can do way better than you instead of settling.

You don't need a trophy wife to do better than Roger's wife, anything average will do it.

Roger is very fortunate to have found someone like Mirka. Considering what a dork he used to be, Roger wouldn't have become the smooth, suave , charismatic "brand" icon he has become without Mirka's support. I don't even think he would have become the player that he did without her by his side.

He's definitely a James Bond character. Francisco Scaramanga to be specific. "Smooth, cool, elegant, ruthless, articulate, efficient" describes both very well. At first glance you have a well presented gentleman with a hint of malice in his smile, and then when you get down to it, you find the true heart of a villain.

You've all heard of Octopu**y ?

Well he we now how Federerpu**y

Especially against Nadal because his balls shrink.

Only a small insignficant man like yourself with a teeny tiny winky would think so.

They wanted to move away from the stereotype of macho man with beautiful and dumb female sidekick, but that does not mean they have to settle for ugly men and women.

discuss...

Wrong in every catagory.

On the other hand, Bond foiled Goldfinger's "Operation Grand Slam," while Federer failed to win tennis' Grand Slam.

That grouping of words is about the only similarity between the two.
