Is it difficult to string these rackets?
I am getting a klippermate. And whatever comes with that. I'm going to buy two backup rackets to my pro open and the o3 white is a contender. I also own an o3 emerald os
What if they don't?
They you are SOL. The Klippermate has no brake.
The other alternative is doing a 50/50 on the Prince rackets.
Lol ok I'm not gonna buy a o3 then. Trying to decide between a few rackets that are on sale under $100. Prince tt warrior, Dunlop 500T, some others. Traditional grommets are what I'm gonna go for then. Thanks!
Some O port rackets have traditional grommets.
Yeah I know, but I don't believe that the o3 white does and that's really the only one I'm interested in except for the speed port black
Speed port black has traditional also. Not sure about the white.
Oh ok...can I order the racket with the traditional grommets installed?? That would be sweet.
I probably won't ever get a better machine. Not worth all that money for me
edit: Lakers beat me to it.
My KlipperMate has a brake and I had no problem stringing O3's and Speedports. I did call for the Boomerang tool and it was at my door in 3 days.
Don
And yet another alternative is to use the S-hook method.
That music really put me in the mood...but not to play tennis.
Tried the brake but it was too much a hassle; settled on the sharpie method. Not really a big deal but honestly I'd have just gotten a different racket if I'd foreseen the added step. (And finding out the hard way that it make a BIG difference in short side when doing one piece stringing.)
You'll need a Prince boomerang to string that on a Klippermate. Call Prince and they will send you the correct boomerang for your rackets, if they have them in stock.
It must depend on machine you use, as I use the brake routinely on O port racquets, and it is no big deal.I pull a knob out and table is locked solid, push it in and its free again.Takes a fraction of a second.
As to the short side, if you mix it up and have the long side on the short side, then just weave the top cross with the short side and you are resynchronized, as that even makes it so the top and bottom cross strings as the tie off strings.
Unfortunately these tools are not made well in that you lose a good amount of tension since the cross string is never horizon when pulled with these tools in place. I am not sure why Prince did not test these tools better. Irvin do you feel the same way about these tools? In other words, that you lose a good amount of tension when using them? The prince exo3 Silve 118 seems to be the worst in tension loss.
