I saw a picture of the new shoe in federerfan07. I saw it and I get the impression that Nike is bringing back the max breathe cage I used to wear. Federerfan07 did say that del potro is wearing these next year. Plus it will have a durability guarantee. Anyone else saw the new pic of the show.

Source for the bolded, please.

Yes, this shoe has been posted about numerous times.

They're just a re-incarnation of the Air Max Breathe [1s]. Not the Cages (which are the 4th generation of the Air Max Breathe line).

There have been pictures of these shoes released by Nike with both the Breathe (spring '13) and Cage (Paris '13) names. Who knows what the name will turn out to be at this point.

Got them from our local shop plus 20% off. Yes it has a 6 months durability warranty.

I was struggling this months finding shoes for myself since I bought 3 pairs 2k10 that I have in rotation and 2 are gone.

If you are fan of the 2K10 like myself(wide toe box), you will be please with the air max cage. Very wide toe box and very comfortable. The sole is thick like a truck(not like 2k10's), but still feel soft and very light in the feet.

Nike is in the right pattern making very comfortable shoes lately. I even own 2 Nike running shoes, the icarus and the pegasus and beat all the asics I own before. Seems they are putting the same effort in the "Tennis department".

Nice! Might pick up the blue/green/white when it comes out! Glad to hear it comes with a 6 month warranty. How does this compare to the 4.3 in terms of comfort and durability?

Good deal. I really like them, but will be waiting for more colorways.

Did they feel a bit big to you? I tried on my usual size (US10.5), but thought the US10 fit better. Bigger/wider toebox was probably a factor.

Your black laces were a nice touch.

They are more comfy than 4.3, but durability cant tell since I bought them yesterday and played for the first time this morning.:p

Thanks for the complement! Yes 10 felt good and I could buy them at that size, but cause I put Dr. scholls sport insoles on all my shoes I went 10.5. But if you like more snug feel then definitely go for size 10.:)

Now as update. Like I said have the opportunity to played with them for the first time this morning and take what I going to write with a grain of salt since I being playing with 2K10's in rotation for the past year and a half.

So I didnt put my insole and played today with the one nike provide, and my big toes hurt. This shoe will need some breaking period I guess. Like I said before the sole is bulky and higher from the ground than my 2k10's. Now I can see that it has the upper from a 2k10, but the characteristics of Courtballistics.

The Nike insole used in Max Cage is different from the Ballistec 4.3. It is much firmer from what I've experienced than the 2K12s, Vapors, or Ballistecs.

Hmmm... according to the TW description, they said to buy 1/2-size smaller, which was what I experienced. So I guess it confirms my suspicion that they run big.

I saw that on TW and was a bit shocked as I've never had to size down in any Nike shoe. If anything I usually have to size up 1/2 because of how tight they run. These should run true with a bit a wiggle room. If I have to send my pair back for a 1/2 smaller I'll eat the damn shoes :)

Im going to be buying a pair shortly, I can't deal with the eyelet issue of the courtballistecs and I wear holes in the Vapor 9's a bit too quickly. These look like they will be a great shoe!

nice getting the new air max cage. which shoe you prefer? the 2k10 or the air max cage?
Hey Darklore, if the question was for me, I do prefer the 2K10(mix with my dr. scholls insoles) better. I dont want to give a final thought since I just used them once, but by the end of the week I can give more feedback.

In regard the size, I just put the 2k10 in one feet and the air max cage in the other to compare and both 10.5 are the same(same distance from toe to the front of the shoe), so I dont know where TW came with that idea. I think many people are use to that "snug feel", so maybe that's why the recommendation.

Im naturally a 10, but I always buy half inch bigger cause I put my insole and cause I like always half inch space from toe to the tip of the shoe. So I guess goes by preference of the shoe. But I will said the shoe is true to size.

Pic for reference in size.....

Thanks for the comparison pic!

I guess it ultimately comes down to trying them on if you get the chance!

thanks for the response. i did wore the breathe free ii and the 2k10s. almost feel the same, but the 2k10s doesn't back up the warranty. I hope this new air max cage will not disappoint

I just noticed this, but in the heel-area in that pic, the Cages look a bit longer than the 2K10's. Optical-illusion from that angle perhaps?

Uvijek Argen

Hahaha, yes I think is the angle. Also my legs look so fat which their not. :)

I played again for the second time and they almost completely breaking by the end of the match. I put my Dr. scholls sport gel insole and feel super now, the big toe didnt hurt like the first time. Thumbs up so far!

Thanks for the comparison to the 2k10's. That's my current shoe right now, but they're beginning to wear out. Considering the the air max cage and cc feather 2's for my slightly wider feet.

I am so excited about these shoes. Nikes fit me better than adidas, but I hate the lacing system on the CB's. Seeing a new warranty shoe from them with a normal lacing system is just great. Nice job, Nike!!! I can hardly wait to get a pair.

I'm still not too sure about the sizing... I'm thinking I should size down... Couldn't I just buy two different sizes, and then return the one that doesn't fit for a complete refund?

Sinner

^ that's what I'll be doing (going 1/2 size down), but it's different for everyone (as indicated by Uvijek Argen), as it comes down to personal preference. Good luck.

Just got mine. The fit is almost the same, in my opinion, to the 4.3's length wise. They are a bit wider though, I haven't played in them yet, will later today, will post later what I thought of them.

Are they much wider than the 4.3s? If so, they probably won't work for me. But it it just a smudge, I'd love to try these. Crazy to say, but the long tongue makes them cool.

Just played in them and in a pair of 4.3s, the Cages are a tad bit wider but in a nice way. I was wearing some thin socks and my feet didn't really seem to notice the difference other than the width, it's not extremely wide just a nice wide. If you can try them on at a local shop along with a pair of 4.3s and chose which one you like more. If I were you and couldn't get to a shop though I would go with the Cages they are really nice.

Kinda the same in high. But what is different in the max cage is how easy bendable is in the toe area.

thankyou for letting me know! wow, this shoe is everything I wanted. does anybody know what other colours are coming out for this shoe? an all-black is what I would love.

Thanks for the feedback! Might have to try those for $15 less than the 4.3s. I'll have to go to my local store.

Wore mine for the first time last night, during a lesson, and I really like these. Nice to finally see a shoe from Nike without the florescent colors.

These colors aren't real exciting. Think I'll pass until the orange ones come out in the fall line. When does Nike generally release its fall line?

I ordered both. Should get them tomorrow. I went down in the LLV8s and the 2K10s. So, it's not unreasonable that I'd have to go down in these.

Have you tried the 2k12? If so can you let me know how they compare sizing wise? The 2k12 to me fits to size.

After seeing better pics of the grey and black,I went with those. Sized down per the instructions here. Hope that works out.

I did. I wore them in my regular size.

Just got both 9 and 9.5. I think I need a 9.25. :p I guess with a pair of the Nike Elite Basketball socks, a 9.5 (my regular size) would be fine. I don't think I could wear the Elite socks with the 9.0 though. Would have to go w/ the old school Nike tennis socks that Delpo and Nadal still wear.

You've gotten these new cages in? So you think sizing down is unnecessary? I'm trying to gauge the opinions of people who have them now before I buy my first pair. If I call TW they'll obviously tell me to size down.

Uh, oh, maybe I should have stayed with the 9s. Oh, well, if the 8.5s go back, I'll just exchange them for the 9s.
