What is the best multi out there for a good price that a high school player could afford?
probably NRG2 or Wilson NXT is best ever. it isn't the lowest price but not the highest either
Pro Supex Maxim Touch has a lot of good reviews, and it's pretty inexpensive compared to the others. I like Head Fibergel Power too, but some think its not very durable. Technifiber MultiFeel isn't bad either, and cheaper than NRG2, and probably more durable.
Best value hands down is maxim touch.. wilson nxt, technifbre nrg are also very good ones
Oh, that's an easy one. :roll:What is the best multi out there for a good price that a high school player could afford?
what brand is maxim touch?

But seriously, isospeed pro, and prince premiere attack are under $10 a set and alpha gut 2000 is even less.
Pro supex.
how is the durability on NRG?
The best is easily Gamma Professional. However, it isn't cheap. If you're looking for best value, I would say any of:
Mantis Comfort
Gamma Live Wire XP (very similar to Professional but considerably less expensive)
ProSupex Maxim Touch
I think the Technifibre strings are overhyped personally.
Another off-brand that is very good is Tier One Triumph.

Include Yonex Tour Super 850 Pro in your short list. One of the best multi's -- period. Better still when price enters into the equation.

For me, the best bang for the buck multi is Prince Premier Attack 16g. Like most multis it is prone to premature breakage on shanks, but it lasts a long time if you don't shank it. I do tend to break strings on shanks, so I'm now using a hybrid of RIP Control mains and Premier Attack crosses.

I tried NRG2 16 and it was completely wrong for my game. The string was thick and offered no spin control at all on my Bio 300T. I dumped it after one session and put in Rip Control and haven't played with a better string since. Tried NXT Tour on my Yonex and its is too powerful strung at mid tension.

i do have my own stringer, but i don't have a ton of money to spend around trying to find that right string being in high school.
I have tried over 20 diffrent Multis and I agree You should try Discho Multifibre, Prince premier attack, and then Rip control. They are the best priced best durability. I feel these three play pretty diffrently and pick the one you like best. What Racket are you playing with?
Ive always liked prince lightning Xx and since the spin version came out its all I use for my crosses with msv focus hex 17L mains. I usually break the mains before a cross so I reckon it quite durable and under 8 bucks a set.
I would check out the reviews and playtests on STRINGFORUM. I have found it to be an objective and useful resource over the years.
Top Rated Multis - Stringforum (2012) based on actual playtests:
Tecnifibre Competition 1.28*
SuperString Viper V9 Terre Multi*
Tecnifibre X-One Biphase ($17)

I'm pretty sure Discho Microfibre = Signum Pro Micronite.
nrg2 is a great multi, very soft, a lot of upside from this string. Also try wilson K gut. Its a great string, (but you may have to restring often)
Give Isospeed Professional Classic a go. I'd be interested to know what others think.
I find that it's just that bit stiffer but still very comfortable, and it lasts far longer than any other multi i've tried. Babolat Excel, NRG2, WeissCannon Explosive, Wilson NXT....
The only gripe I have is that it doesn't come in reels. Not sure what the plainer Isospeed Professional is like and that does come in reels. Quite a bit cheaper than other multi's too.
Give the Prof Classic a go, see what you think
I like Iso Pro Classic quite a bit. It is a higher powered string. Some may say too much so, but the string does put a good bite on the ball and pocketing is very good. It amounts to great feel, very good spin potential and a level of control usually not found in multis this powerful - especially at under $10 a set.Give Isospeed Professional Classic a go. Mik, if you could and have this, could you post close up pics of the weiss cannon strings? One of my clients uses a softer string of theirs as a cross and I always forget to look to see what it is, But I'm thinking it may be one of these
You quoted me on Discho Microfibre but are asking about Weiss Cannon. I'm confused?
NRG in 16g has terrible spin potential.
I meant to say X1 Bio phase, just noticing now that i said NRG, which I have never used or strung with lol...My Brain likes to fail me sometimes.

You want a picture of X1 Biphase?
___ YES
___ NO
haha, sorry again, all over the place. The close up pictures i was hoping that you had were of the two weiss cannon strings that would be considered their softest multis.
