Lower ranked teams that I think win today: Notre Dame, Drake, BYU, Michigan, Texas, and Tennessee. In the consolation matches I'll go with San Diego St, Michigan St, and Boise St.

Georgia better be ready today because VCU is going to be tough

Unfortunately, Stanford will be lucky to make the tournament this year as I thought months ago. I was able to catch some of the singles yesterday and it is clear that this team is not a top 40 team. I hope they will improve as the season moves on but it does not look like they are a tournament team.

If JP McEnroe comes back to finish college, would he be available for the team ?

I was at the matches yesterday and I went away feeling that Vandy was much better than VCU. I'm expecting Georgia to have it easier today.

Vandy blowing out Minnesota though Minnesota's #1 didn't play. Columbia taking it to Louisville leading 3-0.

The pre-season and first ranking period are horrible this year. They're so bad it will take another 3 or 4 rankings to sort it all out.

The early ranking are polls. After the NTI finishes in a few weeks, they convert to the computer rankings. There is no reason for the polls to take a long time to sort out, other than inertia and ignorance on the part of the voters.

They just copy the rankings of last year with minor changes when results happen. I'm not sure they really follow college tennis.

Dawgs better gear up for Clemson when we come rolling in next Thursday.[/QUOT

Be serious! Where do you think you will get wins from. I would like to hear that.

We are no worse than VCU and Vanderbilt. Austin Ansari who plays 6/7 for us straight setted Rhys Johnson in the fall. I know one result doesn't mean much but its something.

We can win doubles. The Maden brothers are near unbeatable at the moment.

Meza and Pieters have had 3 set battles in the past, Meza can win at 3 if he is on.

Dom Maden can hang with Wagland at 4. As can Rigsby at 5 with Smith.
Wibowo is a wild-card and can definitely win at 6 if he is playing well.

The only one I am completely conceding is Harrington at 2.

Clemson is better this year than last and Georgia isn't as good as last year. I think it will be a good match. It will definitely test us for sure.

Harvard takes doubles over Notre Dame but ND takes 4 1st sets.
Columbia beat Louisville 4-1. Ivy League not lying down.

I agree with all of those except for Drake. I think FSU will beat Drake rather handily.

College tennis hasn't figured it out yet. All the rules changes, scoring changes, format changes, point penalty changes won't do a bit of good until they figure out how to put up a proper, working, scoring system and video on the Internet.

Was one of the teams I was thinking of but did not want to name names before the first couple matches. My improssion was based off watching them at the ITA Indoor last fall. They'll still have a good year.

Looks like it's cleared up. I see they are warming up. They're playing on the other side of the bay too Boise St/Santa Clara starting on schedule.
Yeah driving in to PA looked bad this morning. Sun is out, but it's COLD here. I'm here umpiring this weekend. :)

Does anyone know if the video at USC is working? Last year they were toast most of the time.

Oklahoma blowing out Memphis- I thought that'd be a little closer

You and me both. Hopefully they'll have a better day tomorrow.

Not based on this match, but Oklahoma may be closer to a top 5 team. Still very early in the season. We'll see.

5 of the 6 singles matches of Vt vs MTSU have gone to 3 sets. And there is a chance that all 6 could as court 2 is still in a 2nd set tiebreak.
