i´d like to know how often newk attacked the net and how long the final lasted. does anybody know?

Newk also came in a lot in Jimmy's service games, but again, I didn't do a count.
Don't know the running time.

Net stats would not usually include the aces, and offhand I don't recall any that included them.btw, are aces usually included on those net-statistics? i know that service-winners do.
My disc comes into it mid-point; Connors is making a BHV, with Newk on the baseline. Newk then makes a BH lob over his head; Connors runs back and throws up a FH sitter that Newk puts away with a FHV.Can someone tell me what happen in first point of 8th game in 4th set, I miss it on my video
I know Newk won it but need information was first or second serve, and how he won the point, also how many strokes were in rally
Thanks

It looks to me like Connors, when he makes his BHV, has just come in behind his serve. So in my own stats I gave him a first serve.
If that's right it's 6 strokes in all.
Newcombe had great stamina and strength, since he had beaten Roche in a very tough 5 sets match just some hours before playing Connors
I cannot recall whom Jimmy beat in the last four...maybe Alexander?
I think Roche and Newk played on Tuesday and final was on Wednesday
Nadal Power and kiki: Connors beat Dick Crealy in SFs 6-4,6-3,6-4 who in QFs had beaten John Alexander.
Thanks.Crealy looks very underrated since he wasAO sf in 75 and runner up in 1970
kiki, Yes, and he is a nice guy who gave me an autograph in 1975 at Wimbledon in a friendly manner.
Crealy once beat Rod Laver but I have forgotten when and where.
In 1972 he was runner up to Colin Dibley at the Kitzbühel claycourt tournament (Austrian International Championships) even though both players were serve and volley players...
Great event and greater place Kitzbuhel
Dibley had a booming serve and had good results on grass, did not know he also won on cc
Crealy almost beat Laver at 69 FO, it was Laver hardest match that yr at Paris
1975 AusOpen final Newcombe-Connors is one of my favourite matches ever. I just can not get tired re-watching it once and again.
End of the 60s to mid 70s is probably my favourite tennis era to watch. Tennis was really beautiful back then.
kiki, Have you ever been at Kitzbühel?. I was there once, in 1972, but I did not watch the final. I did see young Roscoe Tanner beating old Torben Ulrich (without beard)...
Kitzbühel is also venue of the world's premier ski downhill race, called "Hahnenkamm".
Ken Rosewall once told me that in 1963 when the pro troup played at Kitzbühel he met Toni Sailer the all-time greatest skier (not Killy!).
Never been but would like
I beem to Garmisch in the Bayernische Alps, is it similar?
I remember Franz Klamer and wonderful Ingemar Stenmark, who was God gifted
kiki, I cannot decide if Garmisch is similary to Kitzbühel. But both are venues for the rich and super rich ones. Therefore they are not my places...
Franz Klammer is overrated in Austria. Karl Schranz has won more downhill races.
Yes, Stenmark was great. He won not less than 86 ski races...
Maybe your friend Rosewall treats you there...if you can get his hand out of his pocket!!!
I was kidding
Remember Hansi Krankl and Herbert Prohaska?

Garmisch is one of the nicest mountain vilages I know. But it is also very bavarian and there is also lots of money there.
I know the southern countryland and Wienn from your country. It is beautiful and country people seem nice to me.maybe in the future, I´ll visit it again.Tirol is appealing enough.
kiki, I appreciate your interest in my country and your compliments about it. But please write "Wien" for Vienna, not Wienn...
