The draw is out:

I would say Nadal's half is slightly tougher with Berdych, Nishikori, Raonic, Dimitrov. Could play Berlocq again who he lost a set to in Brazil. On the other side you got Ferrer, Kohly, Almagro and Monaco.

Personally I would love to see another Dimitrov-Nadal SF. But usually these rematches lead to disappointment. Either way Nadal is another lock to the title, I could see Nishikori making it close but not much more.

Nadal-Ferrer final. Nadal's draw is full of solid clay courters, and Janowicz's serve to make things interesting.

Ferrer's draw is full of USTA 4.0s in comparison, except Almagro, and that's another win for Daveed there.

Don't care, Nadal can gather all the ATP 500's with no serious competition attending.

Let's talk about Madrid.

Dimitrov might face Berdych again, right? I hope they meet.

Marc Lopez ain't bad he could be ranked top 100 if he put his mind to it.

He beat Robert 6-1 6-0 for anyone who missed it.

Oh and does anyone think there is a draw that isn't fixed?

Yawn...yet another Nadal-Ferrer final on the cards with Nadal winning of course!

I hope this time Ferrer will do the following to Nadal for a change:

After finally losing his MC title for the first time in 8 years, I'm betting Rafa will make doubly sure he doesn't lose Barcelona as well. Watch out Daveed and everyone else in the draw. This time Rafa REALLY isn't in the mood to be messed with (not that he ever was anyway)! ;)

Nadal's draw is tough and if he doesn't pick it up soon, he's not defending this title, either. Now I shall wait for all the a**holes who dumped on me about him not winning MC to do it again. Lol.

Not saying you're wrong, but honestly which players do you think Nadal could fall to? Even if he has a mediocre tournament like he did in MC, I'm struggling to pick out any players who could shock him, even if they played the match of their life (like Dimitrov to an extent).

LOL. And probably accurate. But Barca has some great food and gorgeous weather; tournament every fan should try to attend.

Yeah, I can't believe I didn't attend this tournament when I was single and lived in Europe. I'm just glad I went to Roland Garros a couple of times.

Put Nico on any court with Ferrer and he flat doesn't believe. AO proved that
My head agrees. But my heart wants Nico to get him - once.

People are ripping it - but it's a pretty solid field, year in, year out. The neighborhood the club is in is very nice. And the rest of the city is just awesome. The only negative - people smoking in the stadium - uncool.

Can't see past Rafa in this one. Hopefully Grigor will test him again. Or Ernests. Maybe Monils to get a comeback title in Romania!? Blog updated below :)

My Favorites to win are:

-N. Almagro (will choke as usual)
- B. Tomic (You know the issues he has)
- N. Davydenko (Older and is losing his touch)

Marc Lopez is interesting. I only know him because Nadal doubled with him a couple of times (and so did some other spanish players) but I once checked his singles results and he has barely played any singles. Since 2011 he has only played 2 matches. One he lost to Nieminen and the other one he won from (wait for it) Lukas Rosol :p

Raonic-Gulbis could be a festival of power given that both players make it that far. Would also be fun to see Manly man Janowicz against Nadal.

Gulbis Vs. Verdasco has turned out to be a solid match... Fernando fighting well, it seems he cares about putting in a good effort, made some great shot/rallies.

Gulbis has been too good, serving for the match now...

Ernests is through to the next round... 6-3, 6-4... Verdasco looking very dissapointed with himself even though he performed well today.

Seriously what happened to verdasco? Seems by the score he played better today but man this guy can't win many matches these days...even on clay...

The fall in the rankings continues for Verdasco. He was defending a QF in Barcelona. Probably a 10-rank drop this week.

He'll be defending another QF result in Madrid. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of the top 50 in a few weeks.

he was very strong in the 2nd set, but Gulbis managed to claw back key points, break points and hustle to get the winner/force the error even when he was behind in some of the rallies.

Fernando hit some sick passing shots and forehand winners. Was also moving well. Errors was a little high, but that's because he was going for his shots, not because of lack of concentration. Also had a lot of winners. I think he was motivated in this match, unlike many previous ones, but just faced a better player.

I hope he can find the motivation again, he still has the talent and seems in good shape.
