Germans can pull off a big win - and I mean big, because 1-nil, even a 2-0 victory is leaving a side like Barca something of a chance most likely.
Dortmund couldn't reject the offer since the amount offered triggered the minimum fee release clause in Gotze's contract. So they didn't have much say in the sale of him.
I would love to see the Germans smash them. Hell, if Milan can, BM def has a shot.
That third goal though... the guy just bulldozed him
Do UEFA intend for Bayern and Madrid to share the trophy?
I expect Madrid to get three penalties, Dortmund to have two players sent off and Pepe and Arbeloa will trip, stamp and dive their way to 87th minute bookings for time wasting tomorrow night.
. Since when are you allowed to full on body-check your opponent?
I don't know but I enjoyed the hell out of it
They are so Messi centric now. I always wondered how barca would fare against a physical side and a ref that allowed physical play.
I guess I have the answer. Real and BM would be an epic final.
And to think BM had to start without Manzukic.
Alexis Sanchez is so overrated
I wonder if Cavani bites as well.
From an article in tomorrows paper:
"Chelsea are so committed to signing Falcao, 27, this summer that they have spurned the chance to negotiate a deal for Cavani, 26. The Uruguayan has long been a favourite of owner Abramovich and technical director Michael Emenalo.
The Napoli forward’s representatives recently approached Chelsea officials about a potential summer switch, indicating Stamford Bridge would be Cavani’s preferred destination should he move to England. But Chelsea waived the option given their commitment to the Falcao deal".
Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket, I hope they know what they're doing.
Outrageous timing for this Gotze's announcement. Someone should lost his head for that.
I agree fully. It was classless and awful for both teams involved.
And to hear that Bayern tapped him up (i.e had approached him with regards to paying his buy-out fee) before they had made any kind of official contact with Dortmund. Horrible.
Bayern München, they sign who they like. Javi Martinez's move there last summer was pretty ugly too iirc.
I thought Falcao was going to Utd?
The special one... or should that be the quite not so special one?
Well, whatever happens hence with Chelsea or whoever, as it certainly appears RM are out (barring a miracle), I find it interesting that arguably Mourinho's spell at Real, with all the funding in the world and a few years to achieve his aims, will likely be considered a failure.
BTW, with rumours of Zidane and others in the running for the Madrid head post, and with Jose's and others before him failing to win the one that perhaps counts most - the Champions League, why don't they go in for DiMatteo?! I'm still non-plussed by the decision to jettison him so early considering he actually won the CL, and it's not as if CFC were spiralling down the league table either.
Either way, it will be interesting to see who replaces him in the summer and how well they do. Whoever their manager is, it's hard to see them topping Barcelona and Bayern.
Klopp will replace him, especially after yesterday. MARCA were going nuts about how awesome he is in the past week leading up to the match, and after yesterday it's hard to see Madrid not giving him a huge offer and a matching massive transfer budget. Plus, this current Dortmund side will be sold off relatively soon, Hummels to Barcelona is practically a done deal, Gundogan is off within a season or two, Reus will move to a bigger club, Shain returns to Madrid, Lewandowski will head to United if Falcao doesn't sign (or Chelsea?), Kuba is getting up there in years, Subotic will probably go to Arsenal sooner or later, etc...
Yeah there's tons of quality in their reserves and youth ranks and they're getting Son from Hamburg this summer, but little by little the club is going towards a transitional period.
Congrats to the Chelski fans around these parts. Thought the blues did a superb job and made an under par Basel looked a pale imitation of the team who not that long ago were beating the likes of Bayern, Man U, Spurs, etc.
Oh, and that penalty? Three words will suffice... Oh... my... god...
BTW, funny seeing Federer there eh?
That was an odd one to be sure. Bad refereeing, terrible penalty given, Federer in the stands, strange.
Probably one of the most universally agreeable statements any MP has ever made!Funny to wake up and see the PM having a say on the Suarez situation, calling him an "appalling example", nice one Dave!
Oh come now, you lot like Sol just as much as we love Ince!RE the upcoming Arsenal-Man U game, I'm hearing alarming things about Fergie maybe giving a run-out to 18-year old kids, peripheral squad players, and probably the kit man, physio, and Sir Bobby Charlton himself.
And as for the so called 'guard of honour'? Do me a favour, please!
All I can say is I hope the Arsenal faithful give Van Persie absolute hell for the whole match, something akin to how we used to greet Sol Cambell on his return visits to the Lane.
However it comes, a little extra help may be needed to get Man U fully firing, I fear.

Poor Newcastle, Liverpool pooped on them!
And did anyone else see Messi's goal today?!
The bottom 2 of the prem appear to of been gone for a bit now tomorrow I suppose should give us one definite, anybody see Wigan getting out of it? I sort of hope not.
Interesting read on bbc page today:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22285545
Some strange results today, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle can keep hold of their big players after a poor season. No doubt Cabaye will get alot of interest.
Gutted Wigan couldn't hold on against Spurs, that would of been useful. It seems at the moment like our rivals are getting the late goals to pick up points, whilst we are conceding them to drop points. Could be crucial.
It also looks like Wolves are going down to League One, after being in the Premier League this time last year. Weird to think that my local team of Port Vale will be playing them next season, the gulf between the two sides is huge.
It's a tough one, I go to the Villa and Wigan away games so it will be a shame to see either one of them go down. Wigan are always in this position, they keep on surviving, but it's getting a bit old now. I think Villa deserve a chance, they are basically playing a youth team. Surviving will give them confidence and I think they have potential.
Love the gallows humour of the Wolves faithful reported singing:
"Que ce ra, ce ra,
Whatever will be, will be
We're going to Shrewsbury
Que ce ra, ce ra"...
I'd feel awful for Wigan if they end up going down, same goes for Villans. Neither team has played defensive, dull football this season and have been getting goals spread throughout their squad. Sometimes that's football though, the game (and life) can be cruel like that.
If Villa go down they'll pull a Newcastle and go straight back up, I feel. Way too big of a club to languish in the Championship. A season to get their collective heads right and a few changes to make and then right back into the thick of things.
Same goes for Wigan if they drop down and Martinez stays with them. If Wigan go down, I heard that Madrid might come calling for him, which he certainly deserves. If he can get Wigan to play attacking attractive football he can make gods out of Madrid's players and he'd build a hell of a team with the money given to him. I'd prefer him taking Wigan straight back up though, with a point to prove.
