Question for Racquet Gurus - Value of Vintage Racquets

I found three old racquets in my garage that my uncles use to play with:
  • ProKennex Ceramic Elite 90 Mid Size
  • Wilson American Ace Mid Size
  • Wilson Defender
Are these racquets of any value (if so, which has the most), or are they the past's equivalent of Wal-Mart racquets? I plan on fixing up them up but I don't want to waste my time if they aren't worth anything. Thanks.

Wilson American ace is a cheap but decent midsize aluminum frame. If you can get past the vibration its not bad. Tie a rubberband on it (or two, or three) and see if you can get comfortable with it.

Wilson Defender is aluminum and never impressed me so I cant "defend It"

Ceramic Elite 90 is a good stick. The best out of that bunch for sure but not real valuable. I have a set of five that I play with. I have paid as little as $5 and as much as $15 so its not worth a whole lot. (let me know if you want to get rid of it though as I am looking for #6). Like all older PK sticks none are really valuable but all play well. Its a combo of Ceramic, graphite, and Fiberglass. Its a heavy flexy frame based on a mold that was used for a bunch of PKs. There is also a ceramic challenger 90 that is virtually the same racquet.

In the end it depends on what you like. They wont play like a modern frame but if you like that vintage feel of softness and control in a racquet I think you will like the PK.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch, magnut. One quick question: I just restrung the PK but forgot to look at the string setup before I cut them out. I skipped 7T, 9T, 8H but I think I skipped the wrong holes at the head, but the pattern looks fine. When you have some free time, would you mind confirming the correct skips on your racquet, please?

Nope, I think your right. One of mine is still factory strung....hold on...........

7,9 at throat are both crosses
8 at head is also a cross
pattern is 16 main & 19 crosses.

You should be all set. Go have some fun with it. I hope it works well for you.
