Good on Dortmund. Was really disappointed to see Gotze leave for the Arrogant Germans.
Disappointed about David Villa/Spurs not coming off with him electing to remain in Spain. Thought he could have fulfilled a similar role to Rafael VdV for us, i.e. top class player bought for comparatively little and providing a few seasons worth of real quality. Okay, we've got Paulinho, but, thus far it's the usual tortuous transfer window for us with zillions of players being linked, some being very actively chased (Villa a case in point) and us in dire need of around 5 or 6 players.
How's everybody else feeling re their teams transfer dealings (or lack thereof)?
Hey Ross,

Do you think we'll lose him?

You can only hope so
Get Benteke instead, it's the move he wants and the fit seems right.
Let's cross our fingers on that. Hard to imagine anyone wanting to buy him, mind you, casting your mind back, we actually managed to sell Jenas, which is a miracle in my book. So with Ade, I'd expect Huddlestone to go (Sunderland possibly), Parker, Assou-Ekkoto, and who knows who else (maybe heading to Villa as part of a Benteke deal).
It's who we bring in that's the intriguing - and frustrating - part.
I like Ade. His style and his skill are incredible. I loved watching him even when he was with Arsenal. Shame he only shows his greatness a portion of the time. Despite my fondness of him, if Benteke helps us back into Champions League, I'm all for him.
New City mantra seems to be:
1) Buy new team, win trophies
2) If new team doesn't win, replace team
3) Rinse + repeat
Doesn't matter if they already have better versions of the players they're signing.
Looks like it.
They will probably be there or there abouts again, but for some reason i'm more worried about Spurs and Arsenal. They seem to be going in the right direction.

You mention Rooney. Who knows how that one's going to turn out. Moyes seems like he will refuse to sell him to anyone. Why would he want to keep him? He's not been that great the last two years, he keeps asking to leave, his heart isn't in it etc..
Not sure why Moyes would want a player like that around when he's trying to stamp his mark on what's already pretty much the toughest job in replacing Ferguson.
Fingers crossed he manages to keep him at Man Utd though, as it does seem he fancies a move to Chelsea, with Mourinho being keen on it too. For me, i'm hoping he doesn't arrive.
He should go back to Everton.
Rooney has been unsettled at United since his injury in that Champions League tie with Bayern Munich. It is difficult not to see a move as best for player and club. And United aren't short of forwards who can score goals so there may be no need to spend on a replacement.
What is going on Fena?! Chelsea reported to be offering 10M plus Luiz or Mata for Rooney?! If this is even half bonafide, I'm staggered. Such exceptional players - I'd love them at WHL.
IMO Moyes has got off to a poor start with all this Rooney business and his press pronouncements.
So while Utd, Arsenal, Spurs (nobody mention Benteke  ) seem to be floundering a bit re transfers, notice how City have gobbled 4 or so attacking players...
Congrats to Rossi for being a great player and to you because.... well, I don't know, but I am polite and gonna congratulate you anyway
Haha thanks, maybe the congratulations should be for being nice to Ross, even though he's a Spurs fan
Happy belated! Unfortunately it doesn't look like Roman will deliver you a birthday present in the form of Di Rossi. Actually, I'd prefer someone over him anyway. Why not move Luiz to defensive midfield? Rafa tried that and it worked!
Thanks! You could be right, i'm thinking Chalobah will probably be the better option there in a year though. Lukaku is looking good, so hopefully that means there's no need to sign Rooney.
I don't want Rooney. He comes with plenty of baggage and is starting to get up there in years. Plus he mopes when he's forced to play on the wing or as a supporting striker. Ironically, he's at his best while playing as a supporting striker or as an attacking midfielder.
Spurs turn down 100 million euro bid for Bale. Who is stupider in this case, Madrid for offering it, or Spurs for turning it down?
Spurs will finish top 2 if they take the money and spend it wisely. It could be the right push to cement themselves as a Champions League club.
Levy doesn't realize that Bale isn't worth 50 million, much less 100. If offered the biggest deal in history, you take it. You could get 3-4 top, top players and make a serious push at the Premier League and probably take the Europa League in the process.
Lavezzi was poor.
Paying 100 million for Bale is idiotic, Tottenham are pushing probably because they know rma will raise their bid, for such a sum they should be idiots not to give him away with no regrets, they could easily fit Coentrao and Di Maria in this deal.
