I don't think age is a factor. I'm not sure Hingis was regularly considered a beauty in her glory days ??? Although she looks better now. Jaeger was never pretty, precocious yes. And Mandlikova...hmmmmm.
Evert, was always considered one of the more attractive tennis players. Granted, it's easier to remember her given her illustrious career.

I only really remember Fromholtz as a schoolboy but I've seen some of the others on YouTube - Shaw was certainly attractive, but I'd still say Sue Barker was one of the prettiest of this era. Objectively, Evert was a pretty teenager, a tad less so mid 70s. Stunning late 70s-early 80s. Matronly, mid 80s. Great late 80s and never looked too bad since. A lot of professional athletes turn to fat later in life and she never has.

Bettina Bunge is still attractive - she's on FB. She's a huge Djocovic fan Cawley will always be beautiful as she was clearly also beautiful from within.
Hingis certainly had a very attractive doubles partner in AK- much to the chagrin of Hingis as I recall.

Now that I've posted my picture I would say that I would gladly date Chris Evert. Unfortunately, at our ages, sun damaged skin is pretty highly correlated with being athletic. We didn't have sunscreen as kids, remember.

I think that pic is from 1999-2003 period when she really ballooned. I think in her book she said that she had all sorts of eating issues which were sort of kicked into gear after her dad died.
Anyway, she's been pretty skinny for years now.

That picture is from when she first came back after the stabbing - she lost a bit of weight just from being on the tour but was never skinny again until retiring and then getting herself mentally together.
It was when she first came back on the tour that she was at her heaviest as I recall.

Considering the amount of time Chris has spent in the sun she looks amazingly well for playing outdoors for 50+ years. Billie Jean King's complexion appeared smirched for quite sometime in the early 80's as I recall. While I don't know the entire history of sunblock products, I would say those who played in the 70's forward had an advantage of better skin protection.
