And whose fault is it, that Djoko loves playing marathon SFs?

Federer did get Nadal in AO 2009 final, after the latter had a marathon SF. Guess what, he still couldn't beat him.
Federer also got Murray in USO 2008 final, after the latter had a marathon SF against Nadal, which was played on 2 days.

Do i need to look into history and jot down a McEnroeisabkcbdcbalna type of list of all of the opponents Fed faced in the finals, who had a marathon SF? Lol.

Yeah and I heard stories how Nadal was supposed to withdraw hours before the final. Nadal is a fraud and his physical abilities are at least suspicious. You can't just play a 5 hour match and then win another 5 hour match in the next round, it's just NOT normal. 10 years ago and earlier it was unheard of and now it's the norm. Sure thing.

This guy won the first two sets and I still he could lose this match lol.Shows u what I think of cilic

It wouldnt be the first time he's choked but i remain cautiously optermistic about him today. He still has 2 sets if he loses this one to recover and win!

Typical! When faced with facts, you fall down to doping accusations.

Look at all the marathon matches Fed has played in his career. Running toe to toe with Nadal and Djokovic in tough 5 setters, and never being in doubt physically. Rome, Wimbledon, AO....just to name a few.
When did Fed lose steam?! It was always down to losing it mentally.
Even now at 33, he has played the most matches on tour, and never did i see him lose it physically. He must be doping too, according to your logic.

Anyways, i'm done with you here. Don't want to derail the match thread.

Berdych is playing like Bird ****!

He was defeated in straights in Wimbledon and now US open!

And this same Cilic will fade like nothing when pitted against Fed!!

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with Roger and you are the one who mentioned Roger first here. You are neither a Djokovic fan nor a Nadal fan. You are just a Federer hater. So it's not that surprising. ville

I missed the call. Is it one of those double bounce ala Madrid 2012/AO 2014? I heard it was a correct call though.

It was a correct double bounce, Berdych argues that it's impossible to hit a backspinner after the second bounce, replays showed otherwise.

I love how this thread degenerated into "Nadal had an easy draw.... Federer had an easy draw" to counter the Nadal-freaks and Fed-fanatics. Well guess what guys! Neither of these two players will win the US Open this year. The 2014 US Open belongs to the best player in the world, and his name is Novak Djokovic. Deal with it!

Can all the Fed V Nadal talk stop polluting a thread about Berdych V Cilic please. Nadal is a non factor this slam. Let's focus on the players that are actually out there competing right now.

Good match from Marin so far. Tomas has bounced back in this set but still a long way to go.

And can you people shut up and stop bringing other players into this thread?

My logic? There's a different between playing a long match and playing 2 long matches in a row, genius. Look at Federer in the 2012 Olympics final.

So when was the last time Federer played 2 long 5-set matches (or any long match, doesn't necessarily have to be 5 sets) in a row and won both, again, smarty pants?

And what does Federer playing a lot in the year have to do with his stamina? 80% of his matches are blitzkriegs he wins in an hour unlike Nadal who would probably need 2 hours to beat Errani. He CAN grind it out but if he did so even half as often as Nadal and Djokovic do he'd be long retired by now.

Cilic has to be one of the most underrated players on this forum. He can beat anyone except Fedalovic when he's in form like right now.

I'm so proud of Marin. His serve has really developed under Ivanisevic. Two aces in a row with 15 for the match.

Marin has played very well under the radar. QFs at Wimbledon, pushing Novak the distance, and within touching distance of the semis here. Only person he's struggled against is Wawrinka this year

agree, but he was always a good server. what is different this year is he move much better then before, and USO slow hard court suit him well.

Yes he has a great serve, in particular his kicker, but he really didn't go for it as much in the past, which is the biggest improvement I've seen, along with the movement and confidence that you mentioned.

Agree but he needs little bit more variation than just baseline tennis. With that serve, a bit more coming to net will do wonders. Until then, he will have a hard time getting through good returners or someone like Fed, who handles fast servers well.
