Anyone know how Billy Pecor still has eligibility left at Notre Dame? He was a senior last year yet played yesterday in San Diego and played the fall as well. He's played in each of the last 5 fall seasons.

Senior 2014-15 - played 10 singles matches in the fall
Senior 2013-14 - played 7 singles matches in the fall and 3 in the spring and also played in 21 doubles matches in the spring.
Junior 2012-13 - played 11 singles matches in the fall and 21 in the spring
Sophomore 2011-12 - played 12 singles matches in the fall and 21 in the spring
Freshman 2010-11 - played 12 matches in the fall and did not play in the spring.

I do not know for sure, but fall matches are all under ITA and not official NCAA matches, so because he did not play in the 2010-2011 spring season he still had one more spring to be eligible.

I did some searching and saw where he got a medical redshirt for missing the spring portion of his freshman year - not sure why he wasn't listed on NDs roster as a redshirt junior last year or a redshirt sophomore the year before.

Well it updated and FSU has won it 4-1. Craig was up 6-4, 5-2 on Lock but wasn't able to close it out because it was 6-4, 5-5 when it was stopped. Terrell Whitehurst clinches it at 6 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Aidan Talcott.

Do you see these new guys contributing right away?

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s tennis team has signed Terrance and Terrell Whitehurst as the only two members of its 2014-15 signing class. The brothers who are from Tallahassee, will begin playing for the Seminoles in January.

It appears the answer to your question is yes. They went 1-1 playing at #3 dubs and Terrell went 2-0 playing at #6 singles while Terrance went 1-1 playing at #5.

I noticed Grayson Goldin isn't on the roster any more - I figured he'd be in the mix for playing time at #6 this year.

Losing Goldin is a big loss. He was a good #6 player last year. FSU does not look too strong this year. Nothing scares you when you look at that line-up. No strength at the top, no great depth. They will struggle in the pretty strong ACC. They look weaker than the teams around them in the ACC like NC State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Louisville.

The Georgia Tech men are hosting three top 20 schools this coming weekend (No. 8-Georgia, No. 2-Oklahoma and No. 16-Columbia) in a round robin tournament. There should be some great matches in there..especially between Georgia and Oklahoma.

John Roddick must have wanted to spend some time with Manny because this will be the 3rd time since September that OU will be in Georgia for a tournament.

Keivon Tabrizi has joined the Wake Forest tennis team. Here's what the press release had to say about him:

Ranked as high as No. 1143 in singles and No. 1324 in doubles by the ATP ... Ranked No. 1235 in singles and No. 1352 in doubles at the time of his signing ... Has a winning doubles record on the professional ATP/WTA Tour and ITF Pro Circuit main draw ... Rated in the top 75 by TennisRecruiting.net and had a TennisRPI as high as No. 25 ... Ranked as high as No. 287 as a junior ... Spent time at the Eagle Fustar Tennis Academy in California.

We'll certainly know more after the UNCC match on Saturday morning and then certainly after the Duke match NEXT Friday, but this should be the best Wake team ever and one that should contend for an ACC and National Title. I know UVA is nasty good, and UNC and Duke should also be VERY good.

1. Rubin
2. Romo Boegarts
3. Jon Ho
4. Max Kan
5. Seraphim
6. Mansouri/Tabrizi

Rubin will be favored in 99% of the matches he plays at 1. Romo should be favored to win at 2 in most of his matches. His matches vs. UVA and UNC will be very tough, and even Duke. Ho and Kan are good, but I think they are both evenly matched 3/4 players. At 5 and 6, I think we are going to be favored in most matches. I know nothing about Tabrizi but I don't think Bresky would have brought him in if he wasn't able to contribute right away.

Wake can really do danger in ACC, especially with their #1-#2 winning a lot of singles, will be interesting how deep Wake really is especially the freshman at 6

Wake at Duke next Friday looks great but I cannot get the time off work to go, I really wish it was not a 130pm match.

Esben Hess-Olesen sat out the doubles point against East Carolina, but is listed at #4 singles. We will see if he is back close to 100%. If so, that is a very good lineup for UNC this year.

UNC won 2/3 doubles and lost #1 doubles (Clark/Schnur).

Chris Mengel is back, leading at #5 for Duke in his first match after missing a season for injury.

The lineups look very deep and tough for UVa, UNC, Duke, and Wake Forest this year. The ACC has a good shot at putting four teams in the final 16. We will have to wait and see on others, such as Notre Dame and Louisville.

I see from the Wake Forest LiveStats that Vikram Hundal, formerly of Georgia Tech, is now playing #1 doubles and #2 singles for Charlotte.

Virginia Tech added 22 year old Edoardo Tessaro to the roster - didn't see any junior info on him and his career high ATP is 1414. He didn't have any problems today in his debut at #5 singles against Coastal Carolina's Jabor Al-Mutawa as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win.

Mansouri playing #4 over Kan

I think Kan is a bit hurt right now. The original lineup for the matches this weekend was Rubin, Bogaerts, Mansouri, Ho, Seraphim, and Kan, but Seraphim and Kan were both injured. Seraphim sat out both matches and Kan sat out the first. Tabrizi and Bloom took their places.

the ACC got a little hit this weekend i think
Miami was not real good
BC is crap like allways
LVille lost to Drake
the Top of ACC is very very good, but the lower teams are bad
Nc State and Duke impressed.
ACC will be very intereresting again this season, 7-9 great teams.

BC is again the crap of ACC...nothing like last place will be a big surprise.

I believe BC gives no men's scholarships in tennis, so this what you would expect. I have no idea why they keep fielding a men's team with no schollies.

While I do not have precise info, other than UNC, Clemson, and maybe Duke until the mid to late 1990's most ACC teams including UVA did not give the maximum allowable scholarships in tennis. The money was not there. I think all do now except for BC. It is an important reason why ACC men's tennis has improved along with indoor courts at every school and it may now be the deepest tennis conference in the country, although the PAC 12 at the top is better. I do not know why the SEC has taken a dip, because 7 or 8 years go it was clearly the best, especially when UGA ruled men's tennis.

Kan and Seraphim were definitely banged up, but hopefully they will be 100% vs Duke. The lineup Bresky threw out there definitely solidifies for me that Rubin is 1 and Boegarts 2, and that 3-6 is some combo of Ho, Mansouri, Kan, and Seraphim. I like it. Tabrizi appears to be next in line in singles.

I like Rubin over Tahir for 1 point. Every other point, including dubs should be very tight. I went last year, and Duke won dubs pt in a TB. Romo won in straights at 1, Kan beat Bruno in 2 tight sets, and Ho beat Hemm in a super. Duke won 2, 5 and 6 easily.

Surprised that Duke isn't playing as well in singles. Alvarez was up 5-2 and lost the set 7-6. Tahir drilled by Pennington. I think Semenzato was up 5-3 in the 1st and he lost the set 7-5.

I am following it Since 15 year s and sec was allways the Best. Only Uva/Texas/Usc/ucla/baylor and maybe oklahoma and Ohio were good and smu. But now the acc is much improved ahead of it.

Duke wins it could be a good result especially on the road for them

good win for them vs UK

solid goals for this year would be reaching finals of ACC tourney, reaching final 16 of NCAAs and giving one of the top 8 a good run, and top 10-15 final ranking

women's team will again be in the NCAA title race this year, but men don't have the firepower needed at the top of the lineup to really compete with the top 5-8 teams
