It was not a department store racquet. Sold in pro shops at the time.

Looks like a "Dunlop XLT 15" to me. They made those around 1981-83. Aluminum frame with a plastic throat piece and plastic grommets, and it was called the "XLT" because it was quite a bit lighter than wood and graphite sticks of the day.
