New coach here could use some help!

Thanks so much for the helpful replies all. I do appreciate it and hope to take advantage of the resources offered. Thats a good question Ash. I suppose the easy answer is that there are not many people willing to put in the time and effort needed, especially for the pay involved. I...

New coach here could use some help!

Thanky you all for the responses! For a bit of info, I had 11 kids sign up this year 3 of which were returners. The number 1 and 2 players graduated last year, number 3 says he doesn't want to play his senior year, and my number 5 just broke his ankle playing basketball. Last years...

New coach here could use some help!

I've never coached tennis before, but I am starting as head coach at our small local HS this week. I wondered if anyone had any handout-type paperwork they would like to share. I'd be interested in knowing how you run your own team, things like practice expectations, drills, introduction...

Advice for going on a cruise?

Thanks for the replies all. I was a bit hesitant about going on a cruise (thinking of the problems that I've seen in the news), but I honestly think I would endanger my family more by driving to the beach. I'm looking at the "bargain" sites right now, like orbitz, travelocity, etc... to...

Advice for going on a cruise?

Thanks for the replies guys. After adding up all I spent on our last vacation, I think I can afford a cruise for just a little more. I'll definately look at the sites you recommended.

Advice for going on a cruise?

Wife and I are considering taking a cruise for vacation this summer. We'll be taking our 2 kids (16 and 10) along. I'm clueless on cruises! Anyone have advice where to begin looking for a good deal? Suggested lines? Suggested destinations? Thanks for any advice.

    Changing cars?

Its what you get used to I guess. I really like that "yanking you through the curves" feeling when the front does more than steer. Still not as much fun as RWD based though... Those sapphire gauges and the big "ball bearing" looking 6-speed in the R models are cool.

    Changing cars?

Needing more room? My parents have a BMW 325, and its a great car, but has had a lot of small problems with sensors and such. Not a cheap car to maintain. If I had the funds and wanted 4 doors, or a little more room, I'd go for a V70R Volvo. Five-cylinder turbocharged engine 0 to 60...

    What tension should I use?

I'd be tempted to try the extra poundage just to begin to understand what tension suits your playing style the best. For a serious player, who already has found the best tension for their own use, it makes sense to use the same tension, but if you haven't gotten to try different tensions...

    Help Meeeeeee!!!!!

Here's a tip I use: I usually have my pocket digital camera handy and snap a shot of the racquet head before I cut out the old strings. If I get confused about the pattern, I can always look back at the picture. Its helped me several times.

Any help with DV connector (Video Cam)

Are you using Firewire or USB? Did you have the camera on VCR, or "play" mode? If using firewire you'll need a program to capture video with.

    Bad things come in 3's

Often imitated and never duplicated. A very enjoyable guy. My prayers to his family. I read on BBC news that no one had died in Austraila from a stingray since the 40's. An unbelievable event for sure.
