  • Hi Stevel, hope you're doing great!

Can I ask you a question on gauge for Tourna BHS? My supplier won’t stock TBZ, which I like (17G). I string at 45#s in my Clash 98s (v1). I like the soft feel and relative pop of the BZ.

BHS looks like a good option for me. I prefer a softer feel. Is the tension maintenance on 17G BHS ok?

    Thanks for any insight, Joe

Hi.... I like the BHS 17G. It is much softer in the last few years as they made the 17G a bit thinner. It tends to play a bit firm in the beginning, but then opens up and become much softer and powerful. Plays much softer that Big HItter Silver Tour.. that plays quite firm and hold tennis really well.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for the feedback! Do you find tension maintenance is acceptable on the 17G?

Also, have you played MSV Co Focus—and if so, can you compare it to BHS? Data shows the Co Focus is v. similar to Black Zone 17.
    Hi there
Do you have the copy of Proportional Stringing spreadsheet that you can share?
    Thanks

Sorry.. You might want to post a general message in the stringing section. Good luck
I got my HDMX test string last week, but all my sticks are freshly strung! All I can do right now is try out that Tecnifibre overgrip…..

Hi Stevel, can you please give me your review on the AG Nylon string? (havent found any info on that one)
thank you very much for your time

Hi ... Nothing really special about the AG Nylon string. I used it a few times a few years back. Solid string at a good price. They had many colors also. I would think Forten Nylon and Prince Nylon would be a about the same. I used the 16G in gold and liked the way that played . Held up great as far as breaking it...

thank you very much, im checking between forten nylon and AG nylon to see which one would be a better choice for economical string to sell here in mexico, but no reviews from the AG string in any place
i appreciate your time to answer me back!

Sent you mail.... I really like the string... :)
I do not have Isospeed baseline or Forten Sweet but have Gosen Sheep Micro, Babolat Conquest, Babolat Nvy and head FXP. Would any of these be a good cross for origin?
I saw your post about Babolat Origin not having any real weaknesses. I'm thinking about putting some cheap round poly like Gosen polylon in the crosses to bring the overall cost down of the string job. Do you think it will be a stiffer setup overall? Full bed of Origin is $21.95 per string job but with polylon in a hybrid, it will be about $12 a string job.

I would use something like Isospeed Baseline 16L instead of the Gosen Polylon. You would wasting the Origin combining it with the polylon. If you had some Forten Sweet.. than would be a great cross..

Try it in a full bed once so you at least know how it's supposed to feel. $22 experiment ain't gonna kill ya.
