Question about hybrids...
I'm currently using all gut because I used to have elbow problems.
If I did gut mains and poly crosses, am I tempting fate or, with the right tension, can that be a fairly arm friendly setup?
I use a Wilson n6.1 90.
I'm not hell bent. I have a semi but it's not hard for me to rally with full western.
But he has 'skimmed' the ball more than when he had a semi.
I think I just need to focus on shot outcomes and he will be fine. If he's thinking about his grip, he will be miserable.
Thanks for the feedback.
He's going to be tall and big. So it would ultimately be better to have a semi western.
But when I have him move to semi, he swings unnaturally as if I made him do an eastern.
I played junior tennis before this was even a thing.
Son is at a decent program. He somehow switched his grip from semi western to western.
The instructors aren't crazy about it. Though he acts like he can't hold the racquet any other way.
Not sure if this is something that has to be...
I know she's only 20, but these have been pretty disappointing results after the AO.
Seems like her team is so obsessed with not having a timetable and not pressuring her that nothing is happening.
Ever time she loses, she pops up on Twitter and is like 'Woooo. Had a great time.' I don't want...
Do you have evidence? I could believe it but I would need to see TV ratings and attendance figures. It seems that the Majors still thrive. I do think the sport needs more depth and interest outside Majors.
It's against the rules of the tournament. It doesn't matter if you think it's a good strategy.
You can go for broke to hurry a game along. You can't intentionally lose points ala Agassi catching the ball served to him.
Most top women hold serve. It's so bizarre to suggest it's less important. And it's not like the men's game is Becker-Edberg anymore.
Yes, Serena is 1 out of a 1000. And she wins everything and has the best shot in women's tennis history - her serve.
It's 'slappy'. Look at Henin. Her wrist is laid back and contact is firm with the motion going from low left to high right. Plus you are segmenting the stroke into two parts.
OHBH is hard. It takes years to get down the timing.
I ended up on his list. He had some decent free pointers.
But since I didn't buy his program, I got this passive aggressive email that basically said "I'm really surprised. I thought you cared about tennis. But I guess not. Otherwise you'd buy my stuff."
That's basically how the match had played out. It's either an MK winner or UE.
It doesn't mean Kerber is worse. She just won't dictate points. And she hasn't.
Oh, I was just joking about the constant threads touting the modern forehand.
I think Keys has more shape to her FH than Sharapova.
Keys has the match on her racket every time she plays (except when she's against Serena).
Match against Kerber is up to Keys. Kerber has little say in...
Somebody needs to send Madison Keys info on the forehand stretch shortening cycle. She may be limited in the future by her "WTA forehand". Hard to be great only hitting your FH 95 MPH.
I was was at the Djokovic/Isner match. Very tight. Djokovic was not off. They both played well.
It's kinda hard for anyone to be 'ready' for Isner.
I favor Novak to win but wouldnt be shocked if Isner won.
Unreal that nobody involved in McHale's development took her aside to force her to have a palm-down serve.
She's athletic and fit and pretty solid on both sides but it doesn't matter because her serve is so weak. She has a waiter's tray serve combined with this extreme shoulder-turn and...
3rd day here. Observations:
-crowd is OLD. can't believe the heat hasn't claimed the lives of more people.
-shuttle service from hotel is awesome. Parking looks daunting.
-food is meh. Expected a higher standard.
-amazing amount of people just shopping for tennis clothing.
-spidercam is...
