    Dunlop CX 2024 line

They don't have as many high profile sponsored players to support! As mentioned above the 2024 line in Australia is right up there price wise with the big boys but the run out models are much cheaper than Head etc equivalents.

    Tennis Spin Hacks

The racquet and strings surviving his gross abuse is the most unbelievable part of this masterpiece of misinformation!

Dunlop SX300 LE - bad colors?

I haven't seen any in the flesh but one of the main reasons LE models are reduced is because the colorways are unpopular. US Open Blades were much cheaper than standard models after a while but the Noir editions were rarely discounted. FWIW looks fine to me but trying to guess what's cool or not...

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

Thanks, I might give it a try on some old frames although if I wait a few more months all the paint will have probably fallen off my Blade V8 without any help from me;).

Cool, any photos? Did you just use rattle cans and hand sand finish at 320 before final coat?

    Dunlop CX 2024 line

Same for Blade V8 and the Noir, later runs were reported as heavier with higher RAs which lead to the (now debunked) theory they were actually V9s.

[HELP] Racket recommendations high intermediate all court gravel player

More risk of elbow problems with Ezone 98 than Vcore especially as you don't want to mod racquets. The EZ98 felt stiff to me but marginally improved with some extra weight. I'd pick a Vcore 98 or Blade 98 over the EZ if you want to safeguard your arm. Lots of other options of course.

Can you reach the 4.0+ level with a light racquet?

If your technique and timing is good enough. If you can return 100mph serves with a good forward contact point then you probably don't need a lot of mass but for less talented players like me the heavier frame really makes a difference against heavy balls.

[HELP] Racket recommendations high intermediate all court gravel player

Extreme Tour is like an arm friendly Aero98. Slightly down on spin and power but better control and comfort. Still very spinny with enough RHS. Boom Pro might be another option but maybe more suited to baseline than all court.

    Dunlop/Srixon 95" official player's frame thread

Dunlop Biomimetic 200 lite was my frame of choice for last 6 years. I traded with a friend for them and never bothered checking specs as they just felt right. I knew he had tuned them up but was recently surprised to find the one I preferred was 370g, the other one at 360g lacked the punch of...

Bicep tendinitis and tennis elbow...I'm 33. Opinions?

I'm normally 1HBH but when my elbow flares up, thankfully rare these days, I'll switch to the 2 hander. It makes a significant difference to pain and discomfort levels. In my case I have a tendency to hit the ball late at times and apart from the extra support I've found the 2HBH naturally...

    Wilson Blade V9 2024

I much preferred the Blade 100 V8 to Gravity Tour. More pop, higher launch angle, better spin. The GT did feel a bit more maneuverable at the net though beam size and weight are very close.

    Play test for Australians

Hi TW, you have a lot of keen and experienced Aussies on this forum who I'm sure would love to be able to participate in string or racquet playtests. Tennis Only and Tennis Warehouse Au are the dominant players in the Australian retail racquet space and you obviously have a well oiled...

Wilson Shift 99 300 vs Yonex Vcore 100

I was surprised to find Shift 300 more comfortable than Ezone 98. The extra spin was expected and did not disappoint. Get enough work on the ball and control was no problem.

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

Does the BP V9 have any of the regular v9 tech? Stablefeel, 45, quick change grommets etc? If not what's new vs the V8 apart from color and maybe tighter QC??

    Blatant Cheating in USTA Tournament

Bit hard to believe it was that blatant if there were spectators. Unless they were all his mates someone is going to say something about consistent bad calls.

Doubles opponent hugging the net and complaining about getting hit

Getting hit in the genitals is not much fun either. A mate got hit squarely from a full blooded drive volley from about 4 meters away and it was over a week before the swelling went down (I took his word for that;)) and several days before he could walk normally and return to work. Who was the...

    Elbow problems incubation period?

I agree over use can be a cause but in my case I'd been using stiffer frames eg Aerogel 500, with frequent recurrent elbow problems till I changed to the heavy 200 series 95" Dunlops. Since then I've only had one minor problem in over 5 years and am playing more often now. While my technique...

    Elbow problems incubation period?

Any ideas how long it takes for elbow problems to develop from an overly stiff frame/string combo. If you play 10 hours over a week without issues are you in the clear LOL? Just after experiences as obviously it's impossible to lay down absolutes! Background: I've had pretty bad GE problems...

A new Head Boom Pro release?

It's been a while since I demoed the BP but I definitely felt it played better with a couple of grams of lead. Mainly to stabilise the head for off centre hits but it just felt nicer while still quite whippy. No idea of SW of that sample sorry so maybe it was under spec to start? I was...

    The gut/poly thread

That was a good deal, I hesitated too long and got the last reel which was 1.30 black. Wish I'd grabbed a blue 1.25 as well. What gauge are you using?
  23. M

    Which 100?

Can you demo Head? Extreme MP (spin), Boom MP (power), Gravity Tour (control) are all good frames. I'm primarily a Blade 100 user but my side squeeze is an Extreme Tour which I'm told produces more action on my shots and is generally more fun to play with.

    No Wilson Blade 100 v9

It's available in Australia, no idea about postage to US but I'll bring one over for you if you cover business class return tickets :D I'm happy with my V8 100 and too much of a tight a** to buy new frames at RRP, but have a V9 demo on the way, hopefully I won't like it.

80+ yo friend loves his RF97s but as you may imagine its hard work for him at times but changing racquets is not an option! He's an ex high level player and was a coach for many years so his technique is as good as it's going to get. He's keen to try nat gut in it and I'm chasing ideas on the...

    Diary of a Racketaholic

My experience with the Blade 100 V8 was vastly improved by small amounts of lead at 3 and 9. This was essential IMO as off center hits otherwise produced undesirable twang/flutter. It was further improved with small ie 1" strips at 12 and a couple of relatively light nails of similar mass in...

I stopped by Fowkes' tennis complex while in Utah....

I don't understand why "JW" would be complicit in these games? I can maybe understand with older guys who peaked decades ago but presumably he's a younger strong player who should want to improve his game. He's not going to do that by beating up on lesser players only by exposing himself to...

    Wilson Blade V9 2024

Have you played both frames or just going off the erroneously published specs for the 100? I've used both extensively and they are very similar in flex, maybe the 98 is a point or 2 softer. Unless you're referring to the 100L or team which are indeed much stiffer.

Haven't heard of this before, I've either used silicone or blu tak. Have you tried these other methods and if so how do they compare?
