4.5 and higher with Zero Customization

4.5 but borderline 5.0 here. Play with a Youtek prestige Pro with very little customization. Only have 1 gram at the hoop. Nothing else needed. 12.3 oz strung with overgrip.

    Missing Grommet Insert

@Irvin thank you for the suggestion. I also noticed that it’s not broken all the way through, it’s just at the top portion that is broken. I’ll try to string it as is and see. Otherwise, I’ll try your last suggestion.

    Missing Grommet Insert

I was looking to string up this Wilson Blade 98 2013 model 16x19 racket and noticed it’s completely missing one hole insert from the throat piece on the left. Does anyone have a spare throat piece? I tried a couple of different racket model grommet sets I had for that piece but they didn’t fit...

Bag pricing are out of control

Bags costing $130 is ridiculous. I got a nice prince Tour 12 racket bag as a gift for my birthday that cost more than $100 but I myself would not spend that much. I only carry 3 rackets but fill the bag with other stuff like balls, towels, stretch bands, extra clothes. Best way to go is buy used...

    Alternatives to Multifeel for snapback?

I have been very impressed with the Gosen Multi CX of late. I have about 8 hours on it(Gosen Mains, Prince Tour XP cross), the feel is very good and maintains tension decent. I like it better than the AK Pro CX.

    Value Multi's

I like Prince Premier Control a lot along with Tecnifibre Multifeel. Also liked Head FXP. Not a fan of Wilson sensation. I don’t know why they put that string in all their demo rackets. Recently been hitting with Gosen AK Pro CX. Technically not classified as a multi but it plays like it.

    Yellow string recommendation

I have used Prince Tour XC extensively as a cross with natural gut as well as in the mains to a certain extent. It comes in yellow but maybe hard to find. It has great control. Not too mushy or muted but not as crisp as others like Babolat rpm, Cyclone, etc

    What's with the squatting?

It's not the prettiest when watching on TV but whatever works for them to get the ball across the net.

Any recent experience with Wilson Natural Gut

I ordered a few sets of Wilson gut. Going to use that on my blade in a gut/poly setup sometime when the weather warms up.

Any recent experience with Wilson Natural Gut

I tried Luxilon gut a while back in a hybrid and hated it. I ordered some Wilson gut to try. I hope it doesn’t feel like Luxilon and plays close to the feel of VS.

Any recent experience with Wilson Natural Gut

I see on TW, the Wilson gut is $41.95 which is affordable than VS whose previous price before the increase was around that amount. Has anyone been using it recently? Does it feel similar to VS? I don't care about durability. I tried to find some threads on this topic but they were 3 years or...

    Alternatives to Multifeel for snapback?

If you love multifeel, why not try a thicker gauge like 16 if you are not already. Lately I have been trying Gosen AK Pro CX and Gosen Multi CX and like the feel. I have about 4 hours on them so jury is still out on durability. I also have some Babolat M7 whose marketing ploy is want to play longer.

Anyone tried Gosen AK Pro CX yet?

I just finished my 2nd hitting session with AK Pro CX(Mains)/ Tour XP (Crosses). It feels as crisp and controlled. It’s only been 3 hours though. But I have a different feeling with this string (in a good way) compared to other multi main poly cross I have used before, like Prince Premier...

Can this racket be saved? Please help

Quick update: Filled the cracks with bonding agent and also inside the buttcap and to the handle area where the cap inserts. It has almost set now and will put the grips tonight. Looks like a permanent fix to me.

I just ordered some JB Weld Epoxy online. I am excited to try fixing the racket.

Can this racket be saved? Please help

All great ideas. I may experiment one of these ideas for fun. The other alternate but easier way is to find a similar used racket online somewhere but after hearing so many great ideas, I have to try one.

I will try the epoxy thing and see. Thanks for the suggestion

Can this racket be saved? Please help

I was playing with an old Wilson Blade 2013 and started hearing creaking in the handle and buttcap area. Initially I thought it was a loose buttcap and glueing it back would resolve the issue but that was not the case. When I removed the staples and the buttcap, it appears the handle itself has...

Anyone tried Gosen AK Pro CX yet?

I had the opportunity to try the AK Pro CX 17 in a hybrid setup today on a 2013 Blade 18x20. AK Pro CX Mains at 54 lbs and Prince Tour XP at 52 lbs. I have another blade strung at the same tension with Gut/Tour XP. Did a side by side comparison hitting both rackets, the AK Pro CX setup has...

Are there any higher level players still using full nylon (syn gut or multi) not due to arm issues?

A few friends that play at a lower level 4.0 still use some basic synthetic gut like Prince duraflex. However, I hit with few 5.0s and none of them use nylon or synthetic gut. They use RPM Blast or Hyper G.

    What is your grail frame?

I have not hit with or intend to try anything new. Tired of switching frames. One of my friend who used to play with the older prestiges switched to the 2021 prestige pro(18x20) that used to be MP and said it feels like the older molds. I was tempted to try but stayed away.

Live by the Blade...Die by the Blade...

This is exactly what I did. I used to play with the 2013 blade 18x20 back in 2014. While I liked everything about it, the balance was off and it felt too head heavy. So, I sold at that time. Fast forward 9 years, I acquired a few used ones of the auction site. Added 8 grams of lead tape to...

    What is your grail frame?

My holy grail racket is the Youtek Prestige Pro. Been playing with it for years now. 16x19 pattern, 6 pts HL and 12.1 oz strung. Has enough stiffness, comes with leather grip. I can never switch to anything else at the moment. Lately, I got to hit with the 2013 Wilson Blade black/silver version...

    Most low Powered Multifilaments Compared

I remember playing with a string called Babolat M7 a while back. It had a good crisp response with a low power level. It’s like a multi but has a unique feel.

Poly cross for Gut Main - not a string breaker

I own one of the Duel G 310 and have VS Touch mains and Prince Tour XP 16 crosses. It used to be called Beast XP back in the day. To me, this string lasts and lasts for a very long time. I have used Prince Tour XC also but have switched to the XP recently. Other strings listed on the thread may...

The evolution of poly’s v the constancy of gut, multi’s and synthetic

I use Babolat VS Touch and some prince polys that I stocked up for crosses. I don’t pay attention to all the new releases and such. Nothing beats the consistency of gut performance.

Are there any super low powered multis that aren't mushy/muted?

You will answer your own questions like this as you starting testing these on your own. Don’t take others experiences into predetermined mode while testing. You are the best judge.

Help finding a Hyper G alternative

I never understood the hype with the Hyper G. To me, their other string Solinco Revolution gives a similar feel and Outlast does too without the price tag.
