Cost of Tennis Balls in USA!!

All my balls now come from the nearest Costco; you can get a tub of 15 cans (45 balls) of some very nice Penn balls for $25.

    Any practical volley tips?

I've been having problems with volleying, too recently, but there is one thing that I've found really helps.. Keep the racket head higher than you usually would, up to almost head level. If you're going to cheat to the backhand side, do so only slightly. From here, it's a lot easier to...

Punishing the typical cupcake second serve

For singles, whack it into the corners; don't let them get away with cheap dinky serve. If you're playing doubles, even better! Slice/hit it down at the net player's feet. If you don't win the point right then and there, the ball's going to be coming back up for an easy volley and putaway.

Can i be good at singles and bad at doubles?

3 singles and 3 doubles pairs for a total of 9 players, in my league. If playing doubles drastically changes your game, then it's a mental thing and not solely the fact that there's four players on the court instead of two. You might have to place your shots a little differently but in the...

    First Hs match

The returner shouldn't be able to rush the net on a return, especially on a first serve. If he is doing so, you should either lob it back over his head or place a shot at his feet, preferably down the center of the court. If he is able to get into position quickly enough to control the net...

    1 hand or two hand?

2H backhand; the only time I'll hit a 1H backhand is on slices/drop shots or if I'm on the run and I need the extra reach. Using two hands makes me a lot more consistent and gives me much, much better control.

    whats your grip size?

4 1/2, and I always add either the Wilson H2Overgrip or the Gamma Supreme overgrip. I like my grips on the big side.

Tennis Courts - cost of a personal court

Clay courts must be constantly serviced, because even a little wind can blow a LOT of clay away from the surface. The price really adds up.

Wilson H2Over Grip Being Discontinued....What's a good replacement

Wow, I didn't think anyone else liked the H2OverGrip. I like it too...it's not annoyingly sticky like some of the other grips I've used. I went to buy some the other day and there were no more...ended up buying the Gamma Supreme standard overgrip and played furiously the next day to get the...

    What's you vibration damper?

I used to use the worm kind that snakes across your strings, but currently I prefer no dampener because it reduces the power and feel.

    Overgrip Question

I like my grips on the large side, so no - I always opt for a thinner overgrip on top of the stock grip. One of my friends uses an overgrip alone, and I find that being able to feel the bevels is rather uncomfortable, especially on serves.

    mental game

Mental game could be a lot better, for sure. One bad mistake sometimes leads to a downward spiral. I find double faulting really ticks me off; it might only happen once or twice during a set, but it can really kill my game.

When did you switch from 26" to 27" ?

I used a 26" until I was 10, then switched it out for a full size racket. I didn't notice much difference in my game, although I like to think that it made my serves easier:o

    Doubles vs. Singles

Doubles. Although you get to wind up for those huge shots and long rallies in singles, doubles is a lot more fast-paced and unpredictable. Plus, who doesn't love all that net time? Doubles = exciting points.
