    Favorite cross with tour bite

n.vy I use 16L tour bite with 17 N.vy. I use N.vy to soften the string bed, and I find it does slightly better than other syn guts at retaining tour bite's spin. It's also very durable as the 16L tour bite mains break before the 17 N.vy crosses (about 8 hours or so of play)

Help stringing 2pc for a Donnay Pro One 97 using floating clamps

There should be enough room on the 7th main to tie off the crosses. This racket is unique in that you string the crosses bottom-up.

    Solinco Tour Bite Soft

It's fairly soft, definitely softer than regular TB. It has good spin, maybe slightly less than regular TB (in a hybrid), but I like the feel more. The big bonus is I'm finding it doesn't rip through the crosses as quickly as the regular. I was expecting the soft to have more power than the...

    Solinco Tour Bite Soft

From the thread in TW Questions/Comments I participated in playtest B over summer, and from what I can remember they are both about the same. However, my elbow hasn't been 100% so I strung the soft in a hybrid with genesis thunderblast, while I did a full bed for the playtest. For this...

Is there any forgiving player's racquets?

Try the EXO3 tour. Huge sweet spot for forgiveness, but also the most flexy and comfortable racket I have ever used.

Stiffness question: stiff poly/syn gut vs soft poly full bed

Thanks for the replies! Guess I'll have to stick to a hybrid. I'll still try full bed, but I'll make sure I keep a close watch on my elbow.

Stiffness question: stiff poly/syn gut vs soft poly full bed

I don't have too much comparative experience, but it was a noticeable difference. The string bed still felt like poly sitffness wise, but it was definitely more conformable.

Stiffness question: stiff poly/syn gut vs soft poly full bed

Stiffness wise, how does a stiffer poly main with a synthetic gut cross generally compare to a softer poly in a full bed? I'm asking because full Tour Bite is too stiff for me, so I usually hybrid it with Babolat N.VY. I am ordering a few packs of Tour Bite soft, and would like to try it...

Also noticed this, will order soon. TW, do you have any plans to get reels of the 17 gauge?

Cushioned, but not thick replacement grip

Let me clarify: When I say I want a thin grip, I'm basically looking for just slightly thinner than average. I'm looking to add an overgrip and only slightly increase the size. A 1 mm thick grip seems like it would decrease the size of the grip, even with an overgrip. Assuming I'm adding...

Cushioned, but not thick replacement grip

Thanks for the replies! Customer Review of Volkl DNX say that it is not thin but thick? How is the cushioning on Babolat Skin Feel and Prince Resi Thin? I have known of these as very thin grips, but also relatively firm. Judging from the customer reviews of Resi-Pro, it seems like it may be...

Cushioned, but not thick replacement grip

I know that as a general rule (except leather), thicker replacement grips generally have more cushioning and thinner replacement grips less. However, I can't go thicker with my current racquet, but am looking for a nicely cushioned replacement grip. I plan on putting a yonex super grap on top...

    Solinco Tour Bite Soft

Thanks Tiffany, Is it the same price as regular tour bite? If you do find out the answer to #2, I'm sure I can speak for many of the people who play tested the string in that we would like to know. Thanks

    Solinco Tour Bite Soft

Hi TW, Solinco just announced on their facebook page that they released tour bite soft. Do you have an estimate on when you will have it? Also, is this the same string we play tested last summer? Thanks

New Version of MSV Focus Hex "Soft"

I strung the 17l hex soft in my RDiS 100 mp at 48. Overall it was decent but nothing special. I haven't tried the regular hex yet, but I believe it would be better from the reviews I'm seeing. This string was soft which I am grateful for as I have had a few tingles in my elbow recently, but...

Gamma Progression II VS Gamma X-ST

You will have to do the first 2 crosses, pull, and then clamp them to eachother. Make sure to wiggle the crosses when you are pulling 2 at once (and this should be the only time you do) to get the tension as close as possible. Then pull 3rd cross and clamp it to the 2nd.

Solinco Tour Bite 17 vs 16L please!

I have been using the 17 gauge, but have used a a few sets of 16L a few months back. From what I remember: The 17 had a bit more power, spin, and was softer. The 16L was a bit more controlled (predictable response), and lasted longer. The difference is noticeable, but only if you play...

The physics of a dropweight tensioner

The torque for 5 degrees over horizontal and 5 degrees under horizontal should be the same, as for any other number of degrees.

The physics of a dropweight tensioner

If I understand correctly, extra tension only occurs when external force is added to the bar, such as dropping it or pushing on it. If the drop weight ends up past horizontal, but was lowered slowly then it is still fine. 5-10 degrees past horizontal would result in about 1 pound less tension.

    the most forgiving players racquet?

By definition most players racquets are demanding. However, if you are looking for a forgiving but low powered stick, look at a radical oversize. The microgel is only $90 and many on this board consider it better than the current version.

    VCORE vs EZONE Xi

I'm looking to get a new racquet and am going to order some demos. I'm coming from an RDiS 100, and would like to try a yonex frame or two. If I decide to go with yonex I'll probably get one of these 98s (or possible the 100/ezone xi with some lead tape). What is the difference between these...

    Grip for backhand slice

Thanks for all the responses. So basically I can stick with a continental slice, which is easier to execute for me right now, or practice with a more eastern forehand grip for more bite. I think in this case I would work on the eastern grip in practices, and I rarely use my slices now in...

    Grip for backhand slice

While I consider my self a 4.0 NTRP (a bit better than a local 4.5 I play but I don't think that is the same as NTRP), I have never really bothered with learning a slice. I hit with a 2hb and hit heavy topspin from both wings. However, my coach suggests learning the backhand slice so that I...

Yonex RDIS 100 MP and 97 Tour (330) comparison
