Which Of The Absolutely Incredible Slam Records Is The Most Likely To Be Broken In Our Lifetime?

Nadal's is the one that nobody will break. Brog it depends on the age factor yeah, I don't see anyone doing it at that age, but overall it might be possible with the homogenization of surfaces. Djokovic would have done it without Nadal around and Federer maybe too.

    Where will Sinner's streak end?

Ah, too bad I don't bet.

Agassi vs. The Big 3. Are they on the same tier of ATGs?

Yep. Even Sampras who was muuuuch more consistent than Agassi had some stinkers at his peak when it came to losses at slams (outside Wimbledon). Djokovic and Federer had ridiculous QF/SF streaks that nobody else pretty much had, and Nadal although not quite on the same level in that regard...

How would you feel if Alcaraz and Sinner take all four slams this season?

I wouldn't mind. I would like to see Djokovic winning once more but if he doesn't I'm fine with it, one extra USO was all I wanted and he got it. But I would like to see guys like Medvedev, Rune, Zverev, etc in the mix too, not just two players above the field.

Alcaraz stepping up to Sinner today

Federer gave Hewitt a two-slam lead. Maybe that's his plan.

Nadal v Zverev - Semi Final Roland Garros 2022 Official Highlights

If Zverev hadn't choked the first set I believe he would have had a strong chance to win the match. Having done so, even if he had taken the 2nd, I believe Nadal was going to take it. But at his age, it would have been tough coming back from 0-2 if that had happened (nonetheless, Zverev didn't...

Agassi vs. The Big 3. Are they on the same tier of ATGs?

The Big 3 are in their own tier. Agassi is in the tier of Lendl, McEnroe and Connors. This is of course subjective and not scientifically proven but is basically accepted that Sampras and Borg are above that lot and below the Big 3. While Becker, Edberg and Wilander are below them. And...

Wimbledon Dream Match: Pete Sampras vs Novak Djokovic

Fast grass Sampras, slower grass Djokovic. Sampras better overall.

"Today's 33 is our 27." - Ivan Lendl explaining the Great Age Shift in tennis.

OOH, ages have changed a bit, OTOH, the Big 3 made the change look bigger than it actually is. They were too good and that's why they were on top until their mid and late 30s, but if you look at other players, not so much. Agassi who is from several generations ago has been on top until his...

    Where will Sinner's streak end?

    Tomorrow vs Alcaraz.

    Prime Cilic in 2020-2023

Not too much given his H2H with Djokovic. He would still win a slam when he peaks, or two at most. But he has an atrocious H2H with Zverev, bad H2H with Thiem, Medvedev or Alcaraz, lost his only match vs Sinner and is 1-1 with Tsitsipas, so it's not like there are signs that show that he would...

What was there about Delpo, that Federer lost 4 finals to him?

Del Potro could take the initiative which is something not many players could do against Fed. Federer himself mentioned that his sheer power in the serve and forehand was something that bothered him when playing against him.
  13. BauerAlmeida

Of the 15 Grand Slam semifinals that Federer lost, which Grand Slams do you think he goes onto win if he had won the semifinal?

No way he beats Djokovic in 2013 at the AO. Vs Murray at Wimbledon in 2016 it all depends on how his knee holds up.
  14. BauerAlmeida

Why Sampras considered to be better than Borg

Connors and Vilas were his rivals and he dominated them, and he didn't even have a losing H2H vs Mac and beat him in a slam final (and they never faced each other on clay where he would have won for sure).
  15. BauerAlmeida

    Another lackluster Djokovic performance.

At this age nobody is consistent, he was destroying Sinner and Alcaraz back to back not long ago, he can still reach that level but these slumps are expected. Federer had some bad spell in 2018 that made everyone think he was finished and then played great in 2019 from Dubai to Wimbledon or so...

How safe is Djokovic's big title haul?

The Big 3 had to compete against each other. You may have someone as good as them but facing only ONE equal instead two, or no equals. It would still require tons of consistency and motivation. Having 2 contemporary ATGs makes it tougher competition-wise but they kept pushing each other, I...

2018 - the biggest what if season of Rafa?

All those excuses I've seen for all the Big 3 or other players. I've seen excuses for all his 3 losses at RG, his defeat vs Federer at AO 2017, Wimbledon 2018 vs Djokovic, Rosol Wimbledon 2012, del Potro USO 2009, Ferrer AO 2011, Murray AO 2010, Murray USO 2008, etc.

2018 - the biggest what if season of Rafa?

Nadal was a set and a break down already when he got injured (or at least when the injury got worse), but it's not like we haven't seen it come back from a situation like that before. I could easily see Nadal recovering from a break down and after gaining momentum if he takes the set he can...

A GOAT list with a difference

Not a huge fan of the list. Emerson too high, as great as he was. Wilander above Becker and Edberg I also disagree among others. That would explain Massú being above guys like Nalbandian, Corretja or Soderling. But Zverev should be above Ferrero, Cash or del Potro having a won a Gold should...

Agassi USO 2004 vs Del Potro USO 2009?

Del Potro is not "former" yet really.

Peak Del Potro or Roddick forehand?

How was Roddick USO 2007 for two sets not included? Anyway, it's del Potro. Roddick's forehand was great, but del Potro is up there with Federer, Nadal, Sampras and Lendl as the best forehands ever. One could argue Gonzalez too because it was deadly but sometimes he could spray UEs on his day.

Why Sampras considered to be better than Borg

Didn't PETE leave the stage when he started losing to the young guns like Hewitt, Safin and Federer?

    Is Sinner the new Murray?

Murray so far is better in terms of game and achievements, he had to compete with the 3 best players in history. We'll see how it unfolds because it doesn't make much sense to compare a player just starting with one almost retired. Sinner can win 1 slam or he can win 10.
  24. BauerAlmeida

2018 - the biggest what if season of Rafa?

I don't think the USO is much of a what-if, Djokovic won fair and square and beat del Potro in straights, so switching draws wouldn't have affected him much as Khachanov is not going to tire him that much. Only Thiem would. And Djokovic was carrying a huge winning streak on HC over Nadal...

2018 - the biggest what if season of Rafa?

What a massive exaggeration lol. Nadal was tougher but not by that difference. And Djokovic had to face the biggest challenge Nadal had in the final anyway. And Djokovic beat USO 2018 del Potro in straights (that was Nadal's toughest opponent). Djokovic's toughest opponent was del Potro...

The best way to sum the Big 3

Paul is a better singer and instrumentalist. Both very good songwriters. No way is Lennon a better vocalist, his voice was very nasal and didn't have a huge range, Paul could reach higher notes and was pretty versatile, singing ballads like Yesterday and a metal song like Helter Skelter. John...

The best way to sum the Big 3

"Talent" is something subjective and immeasurable, but yeah, there are some good arguments to say Federer was the most talented. Mmmm, no. 2nd or 3rd, close with Federer, but by the usual definition of greatness it is Djokovic. Healthiest is debatable. There are arguments to say it is...
