He used it correctly actually, as literally now officially means both literally and figuratively ^_^ One of the Webster definitions of "literally": : in effect : virtually —used in an exaggerated way to emphasize a statement or description that is not literally true or possible

    TLS Rating vs Tennisrecords

I'm from the Mid-Atlantic region, and it's my understanding that singles league matches do count towards your rating in my region.

The Head IG Radical Pro Club

Yep, there was/is a lot of hype with the Angells, and I've always wanted to try these foam filled, solid frames. The TC95 swings a bit more heavily than the Radical, provides a bit more topspin with a more open string pattern (the Radical's 16x19 is pretty dense around the sweet spot) and it's...

The Head IG Radical Pro Club

Hey Roland, I played with the IG Radical Pro (unmodified, 4 3/8 leather grip, 337g static, ~3pts HL) from autumn 2012 until spring 2017 and have recently switched to the Angell TC95. For almost the entire duration, I played with Prince Premier Control 16g as my string. Happy to answer any...

3.5 players. Would you win more matches if you learned to be a pusher?

Yeah I don't have much to add. I pretty much agree. Yeah also agreed. "Pusher" doesn't have a negative connotation to it in my mind... some of my favorite players (Murray, Hewitt, etc) do it really well. But if you're talking about the guys just throwing huge lobs up on every shot or dinking...

3.5 players. Would you win more matches if you learned to be a pusher?

Mostly agree, and I think coming from a "pushing" base means that you start with #1 and work your way up through to #5 instead of starting at #5 and becoming better at #1 over time or in any other order. At 3.5, you will be at the stage of incorporating #1 and #2. At 4.0, adding #3 matters a lot...

3.5 players. Would you win more matches if you learned to be a pusher?

Don't really agree, but maybe it's just that we're defining it differently. If I'm playing a match and the balls are landing short, then yeah, my opponent is probably going to be scrambling the rest of the point on defense. I know of multiple 5.0s who employ the style effectively. They are all...

3.5 players. Would you win more matches if you learned to be a pusher?

Pushing has worked for me, even up to the 4.5 level. Got bumped down to 4.0 again this year, pushed my way to 15-0 singles record and 2-2 at 4.5. Pushing works if that's what your style is. You just have to evolve it to the level that you're playing against. Works great at 3.5. Probably the most...

    The Official Angell Users Club

Never knew the exact SW of my racquets, but yeah the specs with OG and dampener for the Rad Pros is: 337g, 2 pts HL, SW is probably around ~330 For the TC95, 357g, I think it's 7HL unstrung so probably like 4 pts HL but haven't measured it, SW is probably higher than 330 but can't say for sure.

    The Official Angell Users Club

So I've been hitting with a TC95 that I bought here prior to ordering my own, and it actually seems significantly less comfortable than my IG Radical Pros. Same string. Not sure if it's because the sweetspot is smaller and I'm hitting it less so maybe that accounts for it? The mass is actually a...

    The Official Angell Users Club

Anybody play with multi in the TC95? How does it play? For reference, I currently use a full bed of Prince Premier Control in my IG Radical Pros. Just bought a used TC95 16x19 to play around with (which may lead to ordering 2 new ones to use as my main racquets). Seems like everybody is talking...

    The Official Angell Users Club

Thanks everybody for the feedback. Looks like I should try out the TC97 16x19. I'll try to demo but thinking about specing at 11oz unstrung and 9 pts HL as well. tennistomcat: Serving is the hardest part of using the PT630 for me. Flat serves are great due to the mass. I don't serve huge (maybe...

    The Official Angell Users Club

Hi all, I'm currently playing with an IG Radical Pro with a full bed of multi (have been using it for roughly 4 years now) and really enjoy the power and spin that it gives me. Thinking about switching to the TC95 or TC97, so I wanted to get some opinions from those with experience with these...

How good would Djokovic be in gymnastics?

He would be a terrible gymnast due to height. He'd need to be a lot shorter than he is (too short to play pro tennis), and also the body types are so different... flexibility is really the only thing he has going for him.

Appeals to bump down - What's the rationale for granting?

Slightly off topic question but hopefully OK given that I feel like the OP's question has already been answered/explored sufficiently... When trying to figure out how many matches I have towards the ratings calculation for the next year, how do I know when the cutoff is? I know which...

    contact point

For me, my wrist would get injured/hurt from making contact too late repeatedly, so physical pain was the punishment for not doing it correctly. I now hit it correctly out in front on both wings and the pain has subsided. Nothing like injury as an incentive if you don't do it right.

Instructor wants to change child's grip.

To me, this is a clear indication that the coach isn't a very good coach. If he can only teach how he plays and nothing else, switch immediately. I'm not saying switch to the academy pros, but this guy is a dead end. Seriously. The ceiling for your daughter will be really low with this guy.

The Single Most Destructive Forehand In Tennis In The Last 20 Years

Federer and Nadal are extremely impressive, but Gonzo is close. That thing was a beast from him. If only the other aspects of his game were even close to the forehand... He would have been contending for slams.

Moving on from the Prestige Pro

How about dropping tension to 45 lbs or so? Pretty standard for full poly. Or using a softer string?

Played a hard hitter and won, but feel sick afterwards

No, a pusher can be challenging to beat. With the hard hitter who always misses by the 3rd shot, you don't really need to be able to do anything besides prepare in time and just hit it back in the court.

Clear plastic wrap on pallets under grip?

Hey all, How many racquets have a clear wrap around the pallets under the grip? I noticed this on some of my racquets and it sure would make putting lead tape on the pallets more difficult, since if you wanted to remove them, the wrap would peel with it, I assume. I peeled the wrap off of one...

Nishikori knocking on the door of...

I was at the match of him vs Baghdatis on Thursday... he got destroyed. Inferior serve, forehand, backhand, movement... could not keep up at all with Baghdatis. I'm not sure what was wrong, maybe it's because he had to play twice that day (played early afternoon vs Sock and in the evening vs...

How do you control rally from the baseline?

The answer to this one is extremely simple. Keep it deep, and be able to keep it deep when your opponent hits it deep. First one to break and give up a short ball gets attacked and loses control. If you can't do this to your opponent, then he/she is better than you from the baseline, and you are...
