2021 Roland Garros 3R: Roger Federer [8] vs Dominik Koepfer [59]

Does RG not give a **** about how bad it hurts tennis when it sells broadcast rights to a company that relegates its biggest matches to a freaking premium streaming service? We wonder why in the US the best tennis player right now is a 36 year old serve-bot?

2021 Roland Garros 3R: Roger Federer [8] vs Dominik Koepfer [59]

So... for those of us in the US who don't have Peacock, I guess we just refresh our browsers and watch the commentary on this thread?

Federer hits ball kid . USTA didn't default him .

The trolling and stupidity on this forum are really getting out of control.

Hot Damn - Djokovic KICKED OUT of US Open?!

This response demonstrates amply the fact that you're driven by fanboyism and not any kind of logic. Ballboys are sometimes hit by errant shots during play or by players who try to direct balls to them after a fault or after a game when ball kids, as part of their job, SHOULD be paying...

Hot Damn - Djokovic KICKED OUT of US Open?!

This is so ridiculous. If any other player did this besides the one you are preferential to, you'd be hollering about how it was the correct decision. You know why? Because it was the correct decision.

    If Djokovic wins US??

When you bear in mind that weeks and weeks have been without tournaments, the stat doesn't seem quite so impressive.

novak djokovic will play us open

Right. He'll just retire mid-match at the slam instead.

EXO matches starting already -- Tour to resume soon ?

There's no way they're going to have tennis in the US anytime this year. The timetables I'm seeing in this thread are unbelievably optimistic.

When did they start broadcasting grand slam matches in HD?

Should the US Open be on Clay?

You mean it's not already? It certainly plays like it is.

    2020 Australian open final :- [5] Dominic Thiem v/s [2] Novak Djokovic

I predict five, mostly lopsided sets and Djokovic prevailing over a worn-out Thiem.

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

He's approaching his mid-30s. The big 3 don't play the way they used to ten years ago. Nadal had a good tournament. Federer is having a good tournament as well, though I expect he'll lose rather quickly tonight.

So can anybody deny that Nadal deliberetely Uses

This myth has been knocked down before. Chair umpires often show great discretion on when to call the score (and start the shot clock) after a lengthy rally. That said, 25 seconds after a long rally is plenty of time. If anything, the clock should be shortened after aces or quick...

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

More than four hours for a four-set match. Ridiculous. Nadal's time-wasting OCD rituals only exacerbate the problem of these increasingly slow-playing courts. Do the AO organizers really think this is good for tennis? I thought 2017 showed some recognition on their part that matches need to...

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

And of course Nadal is now getting coached from the box. Is there a rule this guy actually follows?

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

ESPN just flashed the stat. Average time between points for Nadal: 28 seconds, 3 secs longer than the rules allow. This is not a matter of the umpire failing to exercise proper discretion. It's a matter of Nadal taking way too long between points, as usual. Even the commentators have been...

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

Some flexibility wouldn't be bad, but let's not pretend that there's no flexibility right now. As others noted, the chair umpire didn't even start the clock until well after the previous point ended. There's no reason play should be taking as long as it is in the current match. It is to speed...

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

The amount time given on the clock is precisely to allow for recovery after long rallies. After aces, play should resume so quickly that a shot clock shouldn't be necessary.

2020 Australian Open QF :- [1] Rafa Nadal vs [5] Domi Thiem

Good Lord this match is going sloooooooowly. Even the commentators are noting how the chair umpire is just a push-over, not enforcing any of the time-based rules. 90 minutes into the match, and we're barely past the first change-over of the second set.

AO’20 QF Men’s Singles: (3) R Federer (SUI) vs Tennys Sandgren

Federer is probably suffering from some minor injury, but these ESPN announcers are ridiculous. Doing nothing but speculating about it. It's almost like a crutch they're using to make up for their inability to engage in actual tennis analysis.

    Whatever happened to Bernard Tomic?

I just realized a couple of days ago that it has been years since I've even heard the name. Six or so years ago he was still viewed as something of a hot prospect, but from what I can remember, his father was verbally abusive toward him. Did he ever ditch his father as coach? What circuit does...

Now we're being treated to MEN'S DOUBLES!!! ESPN Robot's algorithm must have included the US nationality of the Bryan Brothers into the calculations of what to show next. Obviously that's why any American watching tennis at 10 at night (or 1AM!) on Sunday/Monday would be interested in tuning in...
