i don't think this is particularly special relative to other players in the same era, since most other players who've made slam finals in the past 6 years have to get through Fed to win it all as well. The sole exceptions there include: Safin-Hewitt AO 2005 Djokovic-Tsonga AO 2008...

I would argue that one was more entertaining because of how amazingly bad it was. There were some "Oh-my" moments in that match, and not of the good kind :lol:

This is what I thought; in fact I just noticed that Nadal rarely plays great tennis in the GS SF matches in which he ends up winning. It seems he puts in just enough to win.
