The Official Lead Tape Placement+Racket Customization Thread

Hey guys, good to see this thread go up. But there is a lot of false information floating around here/misleading. There is, on the other hand, some great information too, and im not taking away from anybody (nor saying im 100% correct). I run a customising and stringing business here in...

Does variability in equipment setup slow progress?

extremely bad idea. remember that each and every racquet (of the same kind) varies 5-10g above and below the amount specified by the company. so you can have up to 20g difference just in the same frames (if you have multiple). running a stringing and customising business, i see alot of...

    The Tacky OverGrip Battle :)

the tourna tac grip is hands down the best grip on the market. the amount of people i coach that i've converted from all other tacky grips to these is huge. i am as fussy as they get for grips, and tourna tac was the best by an absolute mile. and only the blue coloured ones have the best tac...

Post Pics of Racquets with Head Finest Calfskins

I think the finest calfskin grips are the best going around. Personally, I like them more than fairways, or any other of the leather grips off the shelf. Yes, they are hard to come by, and a little more pricey than others. But if you are lucky enough to acquire some, the feel of them is just...

    Quick Racquet Question

To be honest, i like the leather feeling way more than synthetic, and its not that hard to get used to. I reckon stick with the leather, and if you absolutely hate it, then try a synthetic. just put an overgrip on top of the leather. as for synthetic grips, the choice is completely up to you...

    Quick Racquet Question

firstly dont stress, just pick your favourite replacement for feel etc. I just tend to find that the replacement (non-leather) is generally a bit lighter, so your racquet may become a little bit more head heavy. I've weighed many leather grips, and i think the last wilson leather i weighed...

    Djokovic Double Overgrip

yeah, but i suppose its gonna be firmer than a synthetic main grip, but more spongey than just a single overgrip on a leather. but does anybody know how long he's been doing this? if he even did it on his wilsons? or only since head? i know his grip size went up to 41/2 since his wilsons too.

    Djokovic Double Overgrip

Has djokovic always used a double overgrip? i know he is doing it now, but what about when he was using Wilson's? On the N-Blade and K-blade? i just think it defeats the purpose of having a leather grip underneath if you double up, makes it more spongey.

    String clamp grease

on my restringing machine, one of my clamps is starting to get a bit stiff when sliding up and down to clamp/unclamp strings. Was just wondering if there was any grease/oil to avoid this? Yes, i have been stringing for years and this problem has only just happened so its not the size of the tube...
