I'd try L-Tec 4S or L-Tec OS both give the longevity and playability you are looking for.

Hey Matt haven't had a chance to try out the L-Tec Flex as a cross yet is there much difference in feel and playability to the Premium Gut?

I have tried VS/L-TEC 4S and have to agree the Gut is not well suited playability wise to the low tension that I set up my frames with 44. I use 4S mains/L-tec Premium Gut and am very happy with the results.
