Qiang Wang's new "Yunlop" paintjob is quite possibly the worst I've ever seen.

Anyone else remember Dunlop's paint job on Pat Rafter's Prince Response? That was classic.

RIP Tourna Tac grips.. what to use now?

This is the worst news I've heard in a while. I've been a Tourna-Tac user for YEARS. I love how wide it is. Yonex Grap is amazing as well but it's narrower and doesn't overlap as nicely. Thanks Unique.

Musters painted head sticks to kneissl?

I did own three Toms Reach Machines and played them for about a year or so at their stock length of 28". They felt great and had excellent directional control but they were difficult to get around on faster shots that relied more reaction than practiced technique. They were a once piece...

Musters painted head sticks to kneissl?

If I recall correctly the paint job was limited to the first generation Toms Machine. The white reach models were actual Kneissl frames which he played well with on hard courts but claimed to struggle with them on clay.

    Best oldschool Goth bands?

My wife and I are middle aged Goths. I never considered the Bunnymen to be Goth (post punk in my estimation) but they are my all time favorite band. Just saw them a week or two ago and while Mac is sporting a comb over his voice is the best it's been in years. I MUCH prefer Love and Rockets...

    Your favourite historical persons?

British mountain climbers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. I like to think they made the summit of Mt. Everest in 1924 before dying on the descent. My son's middle names are Mallory and Andrew.

Is Thomas Muster most overrated Clay Courter

I cringed when I saw he would be playing Edberg. He used to beat Muster like a rented mule. But I do believe Muster maximized his talents. Both the 1995 French Open and 1997 Players Championship were great moments for him.

Is Thomas Muster most overrated Clay Courter

Muster was not overrated but it's a fair question why he didn't do better at the French Open. I think part of the problem was one leg being shorter than the other due to the accident caught up to him and his abysmal record against attacking players.

    unspoken great nº 1_Vijay Amritraj

I used to string for Vijay and his son Prakash from about 1997-1999. Vijay was a complete gentleman and I always enjoyed our conversations. He used a Prince Thunder 850 Longbody and Prince Pro Blend at 25 lbs. I asked him how he could control that and he said once you figure it out you can...

For now the raised butt is just wrapping the overgrip around the butt cap and and saving enough to cover the leather for one hand. So the weight is no different but it changes the balance just slightly. What I've done to my friend's racquets is cut a build up sleeve into three pieces and...

Sorry I missed your question. The leather is wrapped so it barely overlaps itself making the ridges as large as possible. That way when I wrap the overgrip, the overlap falls into the ridges making for the smooth surface I prefer. It's just a personal preference.

    Tennis Elbow :(

If you can switch to gut I would recommend it. I know it's not the same thing but I had wrist tendinitis and went through rehab, anti-inflammatory gels, cortisone shot...you name it but nothing helped. I ditched my poly/syn gut hybrid for a gut/poly hybrid and it went away and hasn't come...

    Great Ivan Lendl video

Lendl won me over with his quest to win Wimbledon. You can't help but admire someone who put so much effort and was so straightforward with their desire to have this one tournament.

I totally forgot about Polystar. I tested a set for stringforum and that was the softest, liveliest poly I've ever tried. I'm never gonna ditch gut but that might make for an excellent cross when I run out of RPM Team. I like the string but that's a lot of money to pay for a cross.

    What do you...

I look for a soft (60 RA or less), heavy (12 oz plus) racquet preferably with an open pattern but have had success with 18 mains in the past. I also like a head size of 97-100" even though I'm currently playing a 93.

Yeah the PB 10 needs a little extra muscle when stretched wide and the lead accomplished that. The specs are 364 grams 335 swingweight 30.9 cm balance There is nothing like the natural gut/poly combo and I was a fool to try anything different. As soft as RPM Team feels after ten...

Now that I read that thread about a leather grip wrapped around the butt then a grip wrapped over it I have something new to try. :) My buddy called me up and said he found a bunch of Star Wars stuff from when he was a kid in his parent's garage. I saw the Millennium Falcon in perfect...

Same racquets I've had for a while but after experimenting with the built up butt I've decided to stick with it. It's not as extreme as when I started out but it still feels substantial in the hand and very secure when serving and hitting ground strokes. I've also added lead at 10 and 2 to...

Opinions on the Babolat Pure Strike 100

I haven't played with it in stock form but last night I spent about 15 minutes with one leaded up to 12 oz and it was incredible. I forgot what my friend said the balance point (31 point something) was but it was still maneuverable and stable and I was hitting with nice pace and spin. Despite...

I'm pretty sure my nSix-One Tour 90 is the standard version. Unstrung with a Babolat Synthetic grip it weighed 327 grams, had a balance point of 31.4 cm and a swingweight of 297. After stringing the racquet I added 7 grams of lead at 12:00 and 9 grams of lead on the handle as near the butt cap...

I was curious how my Wilson nSix-One Tour 90 would play using Federer's specs (as far as we know) which I think is 364 grams, 32.2 cm balance and an estimated 355 swingweight. I made the racquet 364 grams and 32.2 cm without consideration for the swingweight and it measure out on my PTC at 355...
