Comparison : RS Lyon / Wilson Revolve / Head Hawk

not sure what set up you had (racket string tension etc etc) but revolve holds tension better then any other poly out there and that is confirmed by TW playtesters. Its also not too powerful . in fact its pretty low powered and very control orentineted compared to most poly out there. you...

    Hyper-G/ISOSPEED Cream Hybrid?

I've had no problem with soft cross Wilson revolve and big hitter black 7 mains breaking prematurely. I use a Wilson K tour 16 x 20 string pattern with revolve in the cross at 53 and big hitter black 7 in the main at 54 and I've been hitting it about 2 months now and still got good tension too...

Comparing Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable and Blue Rock & Power

never tried UC.. tried BRP and hated it. I wouldn't buy it bro. BRP is so stiff and had no feel at all. forget playing it in a stiff frame. you might as well string up piano wire. seriously . its that stiff. just don't do it. it didn't stretch at all when I was stringing it so I...

What hits like Luxilon ALU Power 125/16L

have you ever played with TBHS ? its nothing like ALU power . there is no string that plays like alu except alu. thats a fact , plain and simple. those who don't get that through their head will waste alot of time and money chasing a ghost . just get alu if you want the best string out...

    Your top 3 strings...

I gotta disagree . hyper g is all about control and so is very low power and not easy to play at all unless you got a beast of a swing. it was designed for pros . the main take away i had after playing hyper g was the outstanding control. it really has the " wow " factor in that respect...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

RPM blast and ALU are the best ! they are the only strings I play right now ~ I laugh at the desperation on here to find some "miracle " string that has "no weakness" lol ! give it up man! your never gonna find it. the "perfect string" doesn't exist ! never has and never will ...

did exactly what you said here and I finally got the last cross done. geez ! So yah, I basically plied the strings apart with a awl and then pushed the cross between the string with pliers. of course there was a little cussing just for good measure ! lol ! thanks !

    MY POLY REVIEWS

why so glum? 106 mph serve for a guy who isn't playing much is pretty good ! at my age 48 I am still popping the ball about 105 and feel pretty good about it. geez , federer's first serve average is 114 mph . what are you expecting? ATP (US Open)Roddick 126 MPH (202) Del Potro 121 MPH...

Pure Aero vs. Pure Drive -- what is the difference?

flatter grip shape on the pure aero basically forces you to use a western on the forehand side. that said its the Best serving racket I have used to date but I do have struggles with the forehand side because of the extreme grip shape.

2015 Blade 98 18X20 too sluggish, how to modify?

the easiest way to get your racket more headlight is by trimming off some of the head bumper. ( the bumper can be cut pretty easy with a razor blade, just watch your fingers) anyway, you can take of as much as 5 grams which doesn't sound like much but because its all at the top of the frame...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

Well "smooth" form seems to be key for federer and his longevity. that said, Everybody wants to be smooth but its a real trick to accomplish on the court in a match! I will be interested to see how things work out for you. just think miloslav mecir !! he was one smooth cat !

oops, I thought we were talking about the regular revolve. I never hit the revolve spin so that maybe loses tension faster. hopefully not. I just bought some so will give it a good pre stretch and see what happens. hopefully tension will hang in there just like revolve after does.

I just got some ZV and was wondering if I can get away with revolve in the cross to make it cheaper and give the string bed that comfy , pocketing , revolve feel . will I lose any spin with revolve in the cross?

    MY POLY REVIEWS

revolve has very good tension maintenance but with a plastic string you need to pre-stretch it to get longer playing time then 6 hours. (I just string it slowly) also, for an open pattern powerful racket like the pure aero 16g around 54 +/- 2 lbs should add more control and still play...

    MY POLY REVIEWS

Big fan of spin, power and control offered by Revolve myself. the more I played with it the more I liked it too. it really holds its spin potential and tension as well as any poly and thanks to the great pocketing its about the only poly I like to play at net with. I found it pretty...

    RIP Control + 6.1 95 16x18 - what tension?

I heard some people say babolat origin is sorta of like a cross between a poly and multi and that it has great tension maintenance and decent spin. its expensive I never tried it, I just can't bring myself to pay over 20$ for any string , not even gut. but with your TE issues and love of...

Battle of the Polys Poll: round vs shaped

I agree with you about shaped and round poly having the same spin up to a point. I differ in that I think shaped poly can out spin round poly on extreme shots where the racket head is at extreme angles like on a slices or brushing topspin forehand super whippers. I think at extreme angles...

    RIP Control + 6.1 95 16x18 - what tension?

I played rip for over a year in a wilson tour 95 around 56 lbs and got great spin and comfort out of it with lots of power. I gotta say its the best control multi out there thanks to low power and lots of spin but the feel is pretty muted and you get some "flyers" every now and then. ughh...

    Wilson Revolve Spin

with this string coming out soon I think I 'm gonna have to put off any string purchases for awhile. I love revolve for the spin and control and how long it stays playable. If the spin version is as good as the round but with more spin. I'm a buyer !! I hope wilson is smart and tries to...

Accused of Hooking, was I wrong?

I played USTA in dallas tx for years and never had an issue with "phantom" let calls so the idea of a rule change never occurred to me. now I play interclub and I can only remember 2 or 3 phantom let calls in the last 7 years. the bigger problem I have is guys who knowingly foot fault on...
