One of the articles at TW basically said that string doesn't lose it's elasticity. So, it's the tension loss making the strings feel dead. The string savers increase the tension, thus reviving your "dead" string bed.

Unless you are having problems with your knot slipping through the hole in the grommet, two half hitches work fine for a starting knot.

Instead of restringing, try adding some string savers to replace the tension your strings lost through stretching.

I received mine today.

You don't need a taper at all. At the end of the wrap, before you tape, simply fold the last few inches into the taper shape. It works perfectly.

Good idea when you have more than the hour I had before match play. We play our matches at 6pm. I found out about the sick player at 5 pm. I don't expect most players to check their email between 5 and 6pm. Most players are leaving work and driving to the match at that time.
