1 Hander w/ Pure Drive

I tried to play with a pure drive, and having a one handed backhand, i found it really hard, on both sides. This is because it had so much power. But watching Lubjcic(sp?) todayI figured out that to have a 1 HBH w/ Pure Drive requires a lot of wrist action. This is on both sides, he used so much wrist to keep the ball in the court. Now, my question is to you, how many 1 HBH players use these kind of super power rackets, mostly Babolats?

Most Babolat users use 2 hand backhands but there are exceptions. My friend (not a pro) uses a Babolat Pure Drive. He hits with a one hand backhand and hits very very flat on both sides. His first and second serves are both hard flat serves.

I enjoy 1H BH more than any other shot with Pure Drive (especially PD Plus).
I am not sure if it has something to do that I came from ProStaff Original 85.
When I tried one hander with Pure Drive at first and more recently PD+ it was I would say 40 percent easier for me for some reason.(Maybe it was that extra sq inches lol)
I cannot compare it with 2 hander since I always used 1 hander and I never learned 2 hander so I cannot even execute solid 2hbh with any racquet, while 1hbh is my go to shot.
I am not sure what is difficult about PD and 1hander but if you give me a choice of racquet to hit 1hbh I would most def use PD+

Leander Paes, expert doubles specialist, has a one-handed backhand and recently changed to the pure drive a few years back. In addition, I think Puerta also plays with the updated version which Nadal plays with if I'm not mistaken.

I really think the racquet is overated. The most important thing to me is the weight. There is a minimum that everyone needs to be able to drive the ball with, other than that, it's all marketing bullsh-t. For me, I can hit my one hander with a 95 sq. inch just as good as a 107. I prefer the 95 though just because it feels more concentrated, manuverable and tamed power which is efficient to me.

Id agree that it's all a product of technique. Forgetting about the top level pros, who hit the ball in a way none of us can emulate, I've seen quite a number of guys in Futures who use the PD standard or plus (mainly the standard) and have a one-handed backhand. Same at the club level. Played a guy on the weekend who uses the PD standard and he has a lovely single-handed backhand.

Personally, I found it harder to hit my topspin backhand but the slice worked very well with the PD standard. The PD plus I just couldn't find the groove with.

I dont have statistics to back me up, but along with wilson, babolat is the most popular racquet among top juniors. And contrary to what you sometimes read here, its not divided strictly by playing style. The mini Fed's with all court games arent all playing wilson whilst the Roddicks are playing with PDs. Just like Ljubicic (and Paes) you dont have to play like Roddick b/c you use his racquet. And unfortunately N-Code doesnt turn you into Federer.
