Who will win in this encounter?

Nadal enters the second round of Wimbledon yet again, bidding for his third title and his 6th consecutive final (including only his attempts, not 2009). Winning the title would give Nadal his 3rd channel slam, at the age of only 26, tying Bjorn Borg, so that he would be only 1 final away from matching Federer's 7 Wimbledon finals (and of course, only 5 slams away from breaking the all-time record, and giving him the opportunity to win three different slams on three different surfaces in a calendar year TWICE).

Nadal will have to be play his absolute best to stop the grass master that is Rosol.

Nadal in 3 if he doesn't lose a limb, if he does however; Rosol might get a set.

I love Thursday mornings in New York. You just lounge around for hours browsing through TV channels. This is wonderful.

Nevermind, already found ESPN. Some girl in white with an o/s frame. They should really take better care of the grass behind the baseline, it looks a little bald.

The TV is only showing British Baker and girls, no Nadal. Should I just beat up my TV a little bit?

This TV is a violent individual in need of psychiatric evaluation. He doesn't like the hammer so he starts threatening me with electrocution. This room is getting out of control, we need water here.

I think this tournament sets the tone nicely for the Olympics. Assuming Nadal wins the gold medal here, he will become the ONLY man to win a gold medal on clay, grass and hardcourts at the Olympic Games. Truly straggering. By then, Nadal will have eclipsed Federer's slam record and will have added at least another 10 Masters 1000 titles to his collection, including potentially 10 Roland Garros titles. Add on to that a 10+ defense of Monte Carlo titles and a multitude of Barcelona and Rome titles. And Nadal is showing no sign of decline at all with his current form. Amazing.

Rafa’s game should follow Murray’s, which is on center court now. Whether or not they show any of his game on TV depends on what washed out, has been, American or ladies match is on at the same time.

Hopefully Nadal doesn't mug it up like he did in his last match. Horrible isn't even a strong enough word to desrcibe how sh*tty that match was.

Rafa always looks pretty weak during the early stages at Wimbledon. Just look at his 2010 Wimbledon run. Pretty shake until the QF if you ask me.

Both Djokovic and Federer have looked WAAAY more impressive than Nadal. I don't REALLY understand the lack of confidence by Nadal in early stages of Wimbledon. He's reached 5 finals, WON the title twice and is the second best grasscourt player of this generation. Yet he persists with his pusher, defensive tennis in initial stages and moves like it's ice, rather than grass.

What does he need to get more confidence? He should be a natural by now. Djokovic, in contrast, looks like a man who believes in his abilities on grass courts, even though he's won once and made the final only once..

It's not about confidence, Wimbledon just plays much faster in earlier rounds, Nadal just has to get by the first rounds and by say QF he'll be rolling.

I know he (Rafa) sent some racquets to be re-stringed (something about the tension) but wasn’t there something about the grip being changed for Wem?

Rosol with a set point. I've not been watching this for long but it looks like Rosol is hitting mostly to the Nadal forehand, and it's paying off.

Inevitable tiebreak win for Nadal coming. seriously would it kill someone to actually be able to take a tiebreak off him and at least make the match slightly interesting? Might as well give up when it goes 6-6. Fedever is inevitable of the few people who can win a tiebreak off Nadal and not recently either.

And he saved a set point too. wow.

well if Rosol doesn't do anything else this match the fact that he had set point is meaningful. Two matches in a row Nadal shows moments where the much, much inferior opponent has the chance to get a set against him.
