16g or 17g multi for poly/multi hybrid?

I prefer a 17g poly. Should I keep the same gauge for both mains and crosses, or does 17/16 work good?

And durability isn't a problem for me.

17g will probably give you more pop depending on what string you select.

17g plays much better than 16g in every respect.
If durability is not an issue, it's a no-brainer.

I put 16g in my hybrid with a 17g co-poly (mains). Love it!

If I use a co-poly in the mains, I always choose 17g and blend it with a 16g multi for better durability.

posters # 5 to # 8 including myself all recommended 16g for a multi in the crosses, but if durability is not an issue as you mentioned, 17g is the way to go. I would buy a 17g and 16g and playtest both. In the end, you are the only one who can really tell what is best for you. Good luck!

I always use 17G poly. I have used 16G and 17G multi's hybrided with the poly. Recently, using 17g multi mains with 17g poly cross but have used it the other way around.

17G is better for spin and power. 16G is a touch more durable.
