This week I got lucky. I have no friends around here who will appreciate this so i want to share it with you guys. I walked into the local opportunity shop and these racquets were for sale. I asked how much and the woman at the counter said, " $2 each or $3 with a cover. I had to hide my beaming smile.
All in excellent to good condition. She said most of them were brought in by an elderly lady the day before.
    1 x Spalding Smasher 3
    2 x Max 200G
1 x Slazenger XPB (nice 80's graphite -no nothing about these)
    1 x Prince precision Graphite
    1 x Prince Pro
    1 x Slazenger X2
    2 x Maxply Fort
    1 x Maxply International
    1 x Spalding Impact 770
1 x Bancroft Borg Monte carlo
    1 x Slazenger Challenge Junior
    1 x Slazenger Vilas Tour

Just goes to show the classics are still out there if you look.
    Best $48 I ever spent.

No, not at that price. The cheapest racket, a Wilson Sting, was $5 at Goodwill. Are you planning to sell one of your Dunlop Max 200Gs?

mm i didn't get as lucky as you, and mine are more modern rackets
but i bought about 9 rackets from a retired pro for 20 bucks each (diablos, controls, radicals) and he gave me babolat 12 pack bag and FXP duffel bag for 10 bucks each.

dang i wish i got your 200g though

threads like this make we want to re-induldge in the transcendent bliss of rackaholism....those 200g's are both worth 150+ in the cosmetic appearance they appear to be in. I nkow lots of perople who would pay that. I'd pay that gladly for a ps 85...it's what I actually use.
I am from the planet tennis.
Why have your people stopped making telephones like the Max 200g and the ps 85. Here at planet tennis it baffles us. Surely you don't think the telephone known as the "pure drive" (lol) can give you the direct line to the spirits of health and technical perfection you seek.
    You humans confuse us...????

Goodwill or any 2nd hand donation store. Garage or Yard sales are also good places to find a deal.

Lucky you! Inspired by these kinds of threads, I went over to our local Goodwill store today. All they had are cheap flimsy children's racquets or racquetball gear :( There are times when it's tough living in such an active tennis community...this is one of those times ;) I wonder if there will ever be these kinds of treasures in my local Goodwill!

Dayum. I threw out my 200G about 6 years ago when I bought a new racquet. All the paint was scratch off though. I wished I kept it just for the memories.

you think $48 was a bargain. imagine how much the shop owner had paid the elderly lady for all those racquets. i am pretty sure he didn't sell them for no profits :)

Opportunity shops in my part of the world are stocked only with donated goods.
    The profits go to charity.

the only downside is the odor of opportunity shops. I was in a full suit today and stopped by one. Couldn't even wait in line to buy the $5 precision graphite as the stench of bacteria was too much....that's how it is at some of the larger free shops in the US. These places wreak!!!!! must be because they don't wash the donated clothes....ppeee-eeewww

    Damn. poor charity recipients.

Those 200g's are in fantastic condition. The gold arrows on the throat seemed to come off really quickly when playing everyday.

Probably did....I recently found four (4) 200G's at the same thriftstore in Holland.
The same one in which I found 2 others 6 months before.

    Average price: U$3,00....!!

Some in 6-7/10 but also one in 8.5-9/10 condition.

And our Dutch Fleabay type site gave me two 200G Pro's for U$60,00.
These two are now my main sticks for the coming season.
Today I won both my first singles and doubles match of the competition season with them.

I still want a Max 200G... Those you have in that pic are in fantastic condition! It's a shame that they're impossible to find here in Sweden despite the fact that they made millions of them...

Nice score. So what are the specs on the 200g's? I remember good players using them in highschool while the rest of us idiots used those widebody thick frames.
