(Everyone) 2011 ATP Sudden Death League World Tour Finals: London

    Everyone can play this event:

    The Rules

    1. Every day of the tournament that day's matches will be posted. You pick one player who you think is going to win. It's a knock out-system: if the player you picked wins, you're through to the next round. If he loses, you're out.

    2. Till the round of 16, you have to pick one player per day. In the round of 16, quarters, semis and finals you pick one player per round.

    3. During a tournament, you can pick a player only ONCE. Obviously it's important to make smart choices in order to get far. If you somehow have no players left to pick, you're out as well.

    4. You can't pick a player from a match that has started already.

5a. If the player you picked retires during the match, you're out. If he retires before the match, you're allowed to change your pick.

5b. If the opponent of the player you picked retires, it counts like a win. However, you can't pick a player whose opponent had already retired from the tournament.

    6. If you want to change you pick, make a new post quoting the old pick. Edited posts containing picks will not be taken into account.

    SCORE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
    1 correct picks: 200
    2 correct picks: 400
    3 correct picks: 600
    4 correct picks: 1000
    5 correct picks: 1500

You must pick a different person for each pick....the rule of being able to pick any used up person, in this semi doesn't apply for this version of the event.

I'd like a separate tournament for everyone. Wouldn't that be a good idea, like one tournament for the top 8 and one for everyone.

I have no objections to this.

Question though: since I plan to be in both, can I make different picks for the same day in each? I'm not sure if I would want to or not, but it's nice to know my options.

As a recent (Montreal?) convert to this entertaining pursuit, I obviously earned far few points to qualify. Ergo, I would love to play in the open section if you'll run one. Thanks, Kish!

Hopefully there is a string prize for this event.

Rock Strongo, I'm looking in your direction.

I actually lost my credit card, ID and bus pass yesterday... They all fell out of my wallet... I'll ponder about it. After all, it's Christmas!

EDIT: My new CC is due on Friday, so hopefully I can fergrevwrgrevawesbrtygrbstgreftfdxbcfnyhtfgvbgtrdygfnhbdtrvtgbtnjviohsrtlhnutjgnjrtglrejbarenbtrebatbrevtagrsdbtretbe-

Sorry 'bout that... But hopefully I'll come up with something. The category from which to choose shall be revealed with my first pick.

    Also, I'm in!

Day one (sunday) Schedule seems to be:

    Not Before 2:00 PM
    [4] R Federer (SUI) vs [6] J Tsonga (FRA)

    Not Before 8:00 PM
    [2] R Nadal (ESP) vs [8] M Fish (USA)

Are these the only 2 matches available for round 1?

Or are Monday matches also for the same round?

    Not Before 2:00 PM
    [3] A Murray (GBR) vs [5] D Ferrer (ESP)

    Not Before 8:00 PM
    [1] N Djokovic (SRB) vs [7] T Berdych (CZE)

How exactly do the rules work? Each player can only be picked once throughout the entire tournament or just the RR stage? Essentially, will a winner have to choose 5 different people?

Essentially 5 different people for this version of the tournament!I know it riduclous....but it makes it far more difficult and fair since it is a 1500 points!

Also ICO or Ralph or JBF....please make a pick for TOP 8 tournament just in case 1-2 guys don't make it on the first day? The top 8 Tournment is 4 different people with the semi being able to pick from any used player.

    Nadal if i may!

Also, thanks to Swedish efficiency, I HAVE A NEW CREDIT CARD!!! Didn't even take 2 days. Call bank at about 6 PM, cancel card, chill out the following day and once you're home from school, it's arrived!!!

This means, we're playing with strings!

Maybe for this tournament (the regular, not the elite eight) the doubles could be put in the mix.

That sucks. I'm so glad that has never happened to me, *knocks on wood*. Although, last night I was at the grocery store and some woman was telling the police that she got robbed by several men in a car.

    wooooooo I like that ...
if it's not too much trouble for the host with the most :D

some of those names are long so maybe they would fit better on the spreadsheet with first 3 or 4 letters of the names, instead of spelled out?

    example: Fyrstenberg / Matkowski
could be ... FRYS / MATK
or even ... FRY / MAT

how bout it kishnabe? already got your hands full with the two, namely elite + proles?

I'll add the doubles exclusively for WTF next year.....people had already made picks already adding the doubles might mean a few guys miss on it since they may not come back to post till the next RR!
