I don't understand your question fully? If you are asking if it is possible for you to enter the Open early the answer is no but, the time when they let the night session ticket holders into the grounds varies.

The night sessions ticket holders may or may not be allowed entry into Armstrong if the stadium is popular, which is often the case.

Last year, I think it was last year, the day matches in Ashe ran late, and there was a crunch of day and night sessions jammed into the grounds. It was the densest I've ever seen. I don't think you'll have this tomorrow so you can get in early and check out the outer courts and of course shop.

Food seemed a little bit better than last year, I recommend pretzel with cream cheese in the middle, that a a pepsi will cost you almost ten dollars :(

I sat with some nice older ladies on thursday. They got vendor passes and thought they could see Fed and Serena but the usher didn't let them in. They went to Armstrong and saw the better match, IMHO, Mofils vs Ferrero. I told them that they could go back to Ashe and just try again because eventually they'll get in. They didn't believe me until one of their friends, who was also working the vendor booths, called them and said she was in Ashe. So, now they believe me and went to Ashe.

I have doomed their immortal souls :(

Food? Don't buy the teriyaki beef, saltiest mother ever..........the burgers are good is you get through the lines. Pricey though. Rather buy liquid lunch from the Grey Goose booth. :)...............Wristband Zappy could use some.

Carnegie Deli was good this year. Burger and Chicken Strips are safe bets.

I shared a table with some out of towners. One of them was "putting on airs". She was wearing the wrong clothes, which was funny because she was trying to be sophisticated except she was wearing "fall fashion" one week too early. The woman had to ask her colleagues if they had Purell because they all took the 7 and she felt dirty. I looked at her and licked point of my hands.

Aww relax dude...........Next time you come, let us know again. We can buy you drinks and wristbands maybe, since they don't sell sense of humor at the NTC.

Why was I not informed of this? Let me guess - staffed by friendly supermodels - and next to the Red Bull booth for convenient mixing.

Theyre everywhere on the grounds, well, a big bar near the food court and a couple of smaller ones. Or go to the Heineken bar, you might chat next to Robert Federer lol.

I see this is a 13 page thread, and I can't possibly read all of it, or even much of it. Would someone please sum up the key points, issues, and controversies, and bring me up to speed on where things are at? (I went to the Open last Thursday, day session.)

I'm intrigued. How about you provide a colorful summary of the wheat and chaff contained in these 13 pages?

There's a Sheraton in Flushing that's a couple blocks from the 7 train stop. It is also an Amex SPG hotel so when you book you can use the "cash and points" options for 4000 pts + $60 per night.

I think if you sign up for a new SPG card you can get 10,000 pts free. I've tried this a few years now myself...beats going from midtown. Cheap eats just down the street.

today matches all canceled. That means tomorrow, if no rain or little rain, would be the best day for Ashe ticket holders as you will be seeing all 4 top men and all 8 remaining women playing WOW !!!!!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with the USTA and they claimed Roger is wearing Vapour 6 and not Vapour 8. I demanded the truth so they put me on with a Wilson rep who indeed confirmed that Rogi has a new Prostaff coming out that will have a lower concentration of BLX crystals in the hoop to accentuate forehand GOATness on DTL rippahs. I was still unconvinced that Rogi uses Wilson Gut so I called up the Babolat rep and she said Tsonga injects cortex in the off season and that VS gut is not Wilson gut. All of this has left me confused and totally GOATified.

Why would you go to the Carnegie Deli for a burger or chicken strips? Do you go to Shun Lee and order a steak?

I thought the new Wilson was basically a repainting of the current but that they will release a 95 version in addition to the 90 that may be a bit lighther. No "big" marketing changes. This is from a source you know.

I asked the guy at Wilson and he said the "new" racket is already available in Europe eh?
